I'll never understand paying him anything close to his rumored price tag and not just do everything to keep Morez. Dain and Amani didn't get a good shake here IMO (particularly the former when he gave resistance against Edey vs. watching Edey plant Coleman in the 5th row every back down) but neither hold a candle to what Morez can bring.

Just a massive massive mistake by the staff here IMO. I never want to hear "Brad caters his offensive system to his talent" again. You let IMO a future potential college all-American walk. 18-19 255 lb physical freaks with endless motors don't grow in trees.

I get in the minority but I have more questions about Boswell being a (good) full time PG than I do about Morez's future. 🤷‍♂️

What can you do about it? They wanted him to stay and we're going to pay him, but he wanted to be able to shoot threes and 15 foot jump shots and be played through. They had a different Outlook for him, so they mutually parted ways.

But he never does so on a consistent basis, is undersized, a poor shooter, and an even worse defender. He's fine for the role he played this season, but clearly is not content with that role. I'm all for continuity, but he might be the rare instance where continuity provides negative value, as he'd almost certainly be frustrated again next season (and potentially play like he did down the stretch this year, which hurt us considerably).

I really like Hoiberg and think Sandfort is a solid get that will look good in his system but he really needs to branch out and get some actual big 10 level athletes.

I know he's at Nebraska and likely has limited resources but I think he's kind of falling victim to the same thing that eventually doomed Fran at Iowa where he's only recruiting guys that fit his system and not taking chances on developing athletes to fit it. Though that's also easier said than done with the transfer portal.

Dix also has a very low turnover rate, which will help our offense AND our defense. Turnovers by guards are particularly hard to recover from on D.
