Is there ever any thought that this was a legit redshirt for him to get better and Brad was part of the decision on that? Like.....he actually wanted to help Ty? Maybe I missed it, but were there fences to be mended? Forgive ? Forgiving needed for what??

Seems like Ty was in practice everyday, he was a leader on the sidelines every game and he's back with us relatively quickly.

I think Brad knows how to do his job and he's pretty good at it.
I know from a VERY reliable source that Ty absolutely redshirted because he felt mislead about his role going into next year and that he was darn near shocked that the staff basically communicated they weren't sure what his role would be either... AKA, Underwood really felt fully committed to the 5 out, spacing, and shooting and wasn't sure how Ty would fit into that.

For those on Dame watch, he played 8 min with 2 reb 2 asst and 0 points today ,which is good news. He's had a couple of good games, but not "blowing up on NBA radars" it would seem as his role diminishes again

Don't get me wrong...I'd love to add Sarr...

But to me, after watching him, he's more of a lottery ticket that if you hit...he could have major impact. But there is also a world where the offensive game is still developing and he'll need alot of time to adjust. He is not where Will was on the offensive side of the ball and I don't think he comes in just breaking dudes off the dribble at 16 points a game.

At the risk of sounding spicy...I love his body. 6'6", super long arms, extremely easy athlete, he just floats off the floor. He could be a straight menace on defense and in the passing lanes...but he's got a ways to go on offense.

His potential is sky high, but he'll come in pretty raw if we get him.

Exciting stuff. Dix is a proven shooter that ILL needed.

I guess they are setting their sights on a 4 and a backup PG now?
To clarify, while we absolutely will need a PF, I don't think we'd add a backup PG if the 3 "almost booms" Indy just posted and Sarr come to fruition. We'd have a 9 man rotation of
1) Kylan
2) Dix
3) Sarr
4) PF TBD
5) Ivisic
6) Sellers
7) Ty
8) Ivisic
9) Jake
Plus Wagler, Lee and Jakstys to make 12

I think our backup PG would come from a combination of Ty and Sellers bringing the ball up and starting the offense when Kylan is out, or Lee or Wagler getting spot minutes as the 10th man if they are ready. I don't think we'd add a guy just to play those 5-8 min when Kylan is out of the game as a 10th man, nor could we attract someone into that role most likely.

It's never good news when one of your top targets busts in a game or a stretch of games. We need a stud scorer and an elite athlete and we want him to choose us with NBA teams interested, not choose us because that option dried up.

That's like hoping Will had a terrible last month to the season, so that the NBA didn't bother. That's not good for anybody.

Agreed about the PG.

But... so, we're just assuming Ben's gone?

It all started with a lightning strike, then the tornado came. Also, the weather in CU hasn't been great either.

I think he's back (if he stays in college at all) but I don't think it's as simple as him making an announcement, it needs to be cleared up if he truly has another year of eligibility.

He fits really well as a low-paid bench guy who's got good attitude, not as a starter, and the scholarship limit expanding to 15 helps a lot.

First team All-B1G if his 3PT% regresses back to the mean. Terrific two-way player whose dirty work went underappreciated last year.

He really figured out how to use his handles, quickness, and physicality as the year went on. I almost like him getting downhill more even if his shooting cokes back. He's so good at baiting fouls from defenders and getting to the line.
