I'd pretty much eliminate the possibility of getting all of Sarr, Dix and Sellers. That allocation of resources wouldn't make any sense anyway.

The way the line has gone dead on Sarr tells the tale, I assume.

That PF is definitely the spot where there's still a need.

When I think about the attributes that would compliment the other guys on this hypothetical roster, what you want is basically exactly Quincy Guerrier.

Weirdest team ever. BU is obsessed with weird teams, no one loves tinkering with positional oddities more.
Gritty's analysis is likely realistic. I would wish for more, but despite the Orange Vibes, reality matters.

Aren't signed NIL deals a contract just like any business deal?
If so, how did Morez sign a deal and then renege and go elsewhere?
Are there "out causes" that are so broad that a kid can just skip out?

Are multi-year NIL contracts allowed, to lock kids up more than 1 year?
What exactly would be the enforcement mechanism to make people play college basketball? Can't really claim loss of future revenue. I assume these deals have opt outs, but even if they didn't, wouldn't be any reasonable mechanism for performance in the contract.

NIL are not regulated. That is why there have been several court cases when the player states the school/coach/NIL collective did not pay up

Some NIL are non binding because the NCAA still has rules on paying a player to play or you have a player quit but stay on the roster to collect their last check

Until there is a CBA or a players union every situation is different

Wow. I don't get how that could possibly work.

There is a lot of thought in CBB that they will just go to the 5 years of eligibility for everyone no matter what model …
I have to wonder if that includes guys who willingly redshirt, such as Ty. 5 years no matter what? 6 years if you redshirt?

Listen… no need to bring me into this!

Sure way to properly weigh how important KB coming back is: if he was in the portal, there would have been some big dogs after him.

Kylan started slow this year, and I did become frustrated with him, but by the end of the year it was clear the kid is a baller.

How to become disliked on Illinois Loyalty: make an unpopular prediction.

I doubt the Ty Rogers re-recruitment will work out at Illinois. Over the next 10 weeks or so, there will be roster additions that change the role that Ty thinks he will have in the coming year. In my opinion, Ty will see this evolving situation, make the right calculation, and move on to another position.

It has happened before. Last year, in fact.

I hate this stuff. I really like Ty's game. I also am on board with the Underwood plan, and that will -- over the next 10 weeks -- prove not to include Ty in a role that he thinks makes sense for him.

Bombs away!

Sar, Dix and Sellers all have 20-25 minutes of playing time available here.
That's underrating Sellers, and just in a complete different solar system from reality in the case of Dix and Sarr. Especially Sarr.

You guys don't realize how remarkable what he's doing for the senior Barcelona team right now is. Within the month or so since the idea of him being a silent commitment started bubbling around the internet the situation has pretty sharply changed.

Sarr is now a key contributor for a team much more like the Houston Rockets than the Houston Cougars.

If Sellers is playing big minutes here off the jump, I think we had a poor NIL season. Last time he had a jump up in competition he shot 29% from 3... another jump up in competition seems a bit tenuous.

Remember, money won't be an issue this year! Great, great news for fantasists! We heard it here from the Insiders (TM).

So are you saying he is heading to league? Or he is heading to Duke not Illinois?

We don't want Sarr to do too well. It could lead him straight to the NBA.

Still feel like we need a true PG, but Boswell’s growth was impressive.

Boswell/Sellers/Dix/Ivisicx2/Ty/Sarr is a talented top 7. I actually don’t know why I’m not more impressed by it. I can’t put a finger on why I want more other than greed.
We do need a true PG. if Ty spends much time at PG, I’m not expecting a season better than this past one. He was fine two seasons ago there, that team had Shannon and Marcus. Wasn’t really asked to perform in the typical PG role.

You’re paying for the likeness, not any obligation to play. If the collective or local business still wants a Michigan player to come back and hawk Chevrolets for $900K, I’m sure Morez can make the trip.

Now are these contracts for the exclusive use of his likeness? That may be different. But my point is that it’s not technically the player’s side breaking the deal; it’s the Illinois collective who naturally does not want to pay for him to play at Michigan. They break the deal.

This is all true...

5 games with Barcelona A team:

12.4 ppg on 69% shooting (8-15 from 3 for 53%) in only 19.5 minutes per game

As a reference point, KJ only played spot / garbage minutes for A team last year

We have well over 2 more months to worry about this, too... deadline to withdraw is June 15

To clarify, while we absolutely will need a PF, I don't think we'd add a backup PG if the 3 "almost booms" Indy just posted and Sarr come to fruition. We'd have a 9 man rotation of
1) Kylan
2) Dix
3) Sarr
4) PF TBD
5) Ivisic
6) Sellers
7) Ty
8) Ivisic
9) Jake
Plus Wagler, Lee and Jakstys to make 12

I think our backup PG would come from a combination of Ty and Sellers bringing the ball up and starting the offense when Kylan is out, or Lee or Wagler getting spot minutes as the 10th man if they are ready. I don't think we'd add a guy just to play those 5-8 min when Kylan is out of the game as a 10th man, nor could we attract someone into that role most likely.
Would love #4 PF TBD to be a Bill Laimbeer Dennis Rodman type just to mess with Morez in the Michigan game. Miss roster spots for guys like Lucas Johnson.
