I don’t think being a top 5 player in the portal this early is super impressive for what it’s worth. I think when it’s all said and done he’ll be in the 20-30 range… once again he was hardly a top 3 player on his own TEAM last year. Like Indy said- I wouldn’t even pay him 1 million
This early? Like anything else in life, if you're going to hold out for the next best thing, you had better darn we'll be sure that the next best thing comes and is better than what you had.

Dix is a three level scorer, who can really shoot the ball and he has size. We were a brutally bad three points shooting team.

So, you're saying that he'll be top 20-30. We're going to hold off for someone better? Can you guarantee that? If you swing and miss, the results aren't going to be great.

And Coleman was abysmal offensively.

Thrilled he got his bag but he was a bust for Kansas State financially. They bought him to be "the guy". Which he isn't and never was going to be capable of.

well gang , it's time for ole pru to get comfy and watch my STL Blues in action.....it is MUST SEE TV for me.........hang in there with all the rumors . naysayers and magic predictions..... we are , after all is said and done just " dust in the wind ".....

Id even argue that being top 5 after all is said and done won't mean too much. A lot of these top portal guys haven't translated to huge impacts for teams. What's most important is having a truly transferable skillset and fit.

These were the top 10 from last year. To me, I'm taking pj haggerty and ja'kobi Gillespie who were ranked 32 and 48 respectively before anyone in that top ten say chaz Lanier. And even then, depending upon team need, you still might put Lanier below them.

The guy was 3rd in the conference in eFG% and #1 & 2 were Senior big men who are out of eligibility. You know how sometimes out offense hits a stretch where shots just aren't going down? Dix is the cure for that.

Gypsy the fortune tellers says: Twins for certain. Sellers 70%
Dix is lost in the portal and has not found the exit. Can’t make a reading until he exits.
btw… she can rebound tennis balls off the glass better than that dude we lost… can’t remember the name ?

Any chance Blackwelll from Wiscy would be interested in Illinois? His dad played at Illinois in the 1980s and Blackwell would fit in well with Boswell and Saar (if we get him) in the backcourt.

Why isn't Blackwell already here? Somebody asleep at the wheel?

We don’t need 3 point shooters, we need 3 point makers and we don’t have that!
Having stated that here for years, you know I agree. I am unimpressed with any shooter below 40%, especially those who are shooting volume and below 33%. What I see are a plethora of volume miss-ers today. It takes work, but if you have a passion for the game, it really is not work. And if you are truly a jump-shooter inside 30 ft., of which there are few, practice is a ton of work and effort when shooting 500 to 1000 shots a day.

One thing that shows out that is overlooked by BU, is in almost every case, shooting from the arc brings a diminishing return as a team goes over 20 attempts. It takes longer to get your puppies in order and the lift is longer. When arms and legs get fatigued, things fall apart easier. Also, when playing good defensive teams, getting over 20 good looks requires taking shots that are not such a good look. I sure prefer good shooters taking open shots that are not too rushed and in rhythm.

I dunno.
I think we beat Wisky last year because Storr quit.
How'd he really do at Kansas? I haven't heard much positive.
IMO we will have enough team building to do without Storr
Let me see if I got this right..Last year in the big ten championship we beat Wisconsin because Storr quit? He scored 24 and had 5 rebounds.
Wish he would come join beloved and "quit" every night..good lord

All of this. Dix is good and he possesses a skill we lacked big time. He can really light it up from deep, AND he isn’t a turnover machine. I’m not trying to make the man out to be God’s gift to basketball, but he is a great fit for this team and how we want to play.

We don’t need 3 point shooters, we need 3 point makers and we don’t have that!
We could have but if you want players to make threes at a higher clip, you need a PG who can make the right pass to the shooters to give them the best opportunity to succeed. We do not have that, yet. Boz needs to learn the playmaking part of being the floor leader. Controlling the game, working off screens better and get the ball to an open shooter. If Boz can take that next step, we are going to be better than last year.
