Souring on someone who has proven they can shoot in the Big 10 while simultaneously being excited about someone who proved they couldn't shoot very well in the Big 12 and then took a year off with injuries is tough to do without reservation lol

I have concerns about adding Storr means related to Underwood and staff perceive culture within a vacuum, or that Wisconsin players talk about the team environment being a lot better this year compared to last year, or that every team he's been on has been better after he leaves, but let's focus on Storr's on-court performance.

I would recommend some folks re-visit Storr's Wisconsin stats. There is a rosier-than-reality perception of Storr, with my assumption being that excellent BTT performance and immediate rumors that Illinois was going to add him as a transfer in the offseason. He also has been a negative defensive player at three different stops, including with two coaches that are known for their defensive prowess.

The biggest alarm is he is the first P5 starter I have ever seen that has put up a negative offensive/defensive rating in each season of his career. Quick description: offensive rating is how many points produced over 100 possessions when that player is playing. The reverse applies to defensive rating. It's really hard to put up a single negative season on a good team because you traditionally pile up a ton of excess offense produced points and few defensive points allowed when you play terrible teams. You can look up Illinois' starters from last year, such as Boswell (+8.9) or Tomi (+22.3!) or even Humrichous (+13.1) to see how this is always positive. You can even see a player that was frequently loved or hated at Illinois like Kipper Nichols that had negative offensive/defensive season ratings but was still a career positive (+2.2). So just imagine how many negatives are associated with poor defense and poor team dynamics to put up a negative rating (-2.7) across three different programs.

Let me preface this first, that I am a long long way from being an insider. I did hear from a very good source that Sarr was going to wait until his season is over(May 30) before committing to us. Now I don’t know if there was a silent verbal or not. Also that’s at least 7 weeks away and a lot can happen. Insiders have you heard the same thing??

Also not an insider, but it has been stated that he cannot commit until NBA draft decisions are made.

Time to start calling backup plans? lol

Looking at what's currently available as a scoring wing: Lamar Wilkerson, Rodney Rice, Jaron Pierre, Jacari White, etc... lots of options out there and I heard they all like money

This is going to go over like a turd in a canoe but here goes: So many of these guys are WAY, WAY, WAY overpaid for what they bring. I know about market demand and all that but GOOD LORD!

I still can’t rap my mind around the fact that Kansas State paid Coleman Hawkins 2 million dollars to play basketball. I really can’t.

I like Coleman. Seems like a good dude, and he gave a lot to our program. 2 million dollars??? Are you kidding me?

He’s just one example. There are plenty of others.

Some coaches starting to wonder if Josh Dix is really worth a stupid amount of money.

He's not, but what's the backup plan - if they have another good shooter they like for half the amount or less and we can be players for another big target, I'd say, let's go to plan B, but the plan B's are drying up as well- maybe Jacari White? Jamar Wilkerson would be great, but it doesn't sound like we're even in on him

Not sure where to put this, but some people wondering the impact of incoming freshmen....anyone watching the Chipotle HS Nationals on ESPN2? Peterson, Anthony and others putting on a show. Good stuff. You can tell they are potential one and dones.

I think a lot of our insiders have said there are plenty of options remaining, some of which haven't entered the portal and some that will likely pull out of the NBA Draft. *shrug*

Regarding Dix if the asking price is getting to high then nab Storr at a reduced price and then go after Anthony Roy.

Keep in mind, there are teams still playing, and a lot of guys who think they are going to the NBA will get a slice of humble pie in a few weeks.

Are we expecting a commitment from Big Z or Sellers today?
