Let me see if I got this right..Last year in the big ten championship we beat Wisconsin because Storr quit? He scored 24 and had 5 rebounds.
Wish he would come join beloved and "quit" every night..good lord
I wouldn’t put much stock in guys having a big game against Illinois the last two years. I don’t want to say it has been putrid, but my mother could put 30 on this team and she’s 79.

oh is that what you like about my post? Why don't you dial it back about 30% there.

I'm not liking the relative silence. My best bet is things have gone south on Dix and we're looking at other options. Also, uneasy on the Sarr front.

I feel like we're still good on both Ivisics and therefore should have a solid team. But we still lacking a shooter and a goto bucket getter.

Luckily it's still early in the portal season and I'm assuming we'll hear more targets soon.
Really hope it still happens. I'm so ready to order my I ❤️ Dix t-shirt.

Easily solution. Let Manchester United and Chelsea overpay for overrated players and pick up quality for value.
from my perspective it's been mostly chelsea overpaying any player that they see their rivals are interested in

Having stated that here for years, you know I agree. I am unimpressed with any shooter below 40%, especially those who are shooting volume and below 33%. What I see are a plethora of volume miss-ers today. It takes work, but if you have a passion for the game, it really is not work. And if you are truly a jump-shooter inside 30 ft., of which there are few, practice is a ton of work and effort when shooting 500 to 1000 shots a day.

One thing that shows out that is overlooked by BU, is in almost every case, shooting from the arc brings a diminishing return as a team goes over 20 attempts. It takes longer to get your puppies in order and the lift is longer. When arms and legs get fatigued, things fall apart easier. Also, when playing good defensive teams, getting over 20 good looks requires taking shots that are not such a good look. I sure prefer good shooters taking open shots that are not too rushed and in rhythm.
Our best chance to win a title is with shooting IMO. We're never going to field a Kentucky/UNC/Duke style team that wins with A+ athletes and a bunch of lottery picks. But we can recruit a lot of mid tier top 100 guys, hopefully most can shoot, and be in the hunt on the years where a couple play above their ranking.

A 36% three point shot is equal to shooting 54% from 2. That's a good shot. Our 3p% was just awful this year. 31% on 30 shots per game. And we were still solidly a top 25 team when healthy. This would have been a great team if we shot 36% as a team (~top 8 in kenpom assuming all else equal).

In 2005, we shot 39% as a team on 22 3's per game. This year, Florida is at 35%, Duke 39%, Houston 40% and Auburn 36% all on at least 20 3's per game (3 out of 4 are shooting 25+ per game).

If we get Big Z, Sellers, and Dix we should not target any more non-bench new comers. Pour all that cap money left into Riley.

A lineup of Bos, Dix, Riley, Ty/Sellres, Big Z/Ivisic and 1 or 2 more bench guys (idc if its just Davis and Ben; 8th and 9th guy who cares and you get continuity) is more than capable. And yes Ty can play the four.
If this does come to fruition though, at the very least top 2 team preseason (big ten). nationally probably top 20.

This early? Like anything else in life, if you're going to hold out for the next best thing, you had better darn we'll be sure that the next best thing comes and is better than what you had.

Dix is a three level scorer, who can really shoot the ball and he has size. We were a brutally bad three points shooting team.

So, you're saying that he'll be top 20-30. We're going to hold off for someone better? Can you guarantee that? If you swing and miss, the results aren't going to be great.
No im not saying that. In fact, in one of my earlier posts I said let’s go ahead and get it done (something about let’s not dix around). I don’t want to mess around trying to get someone we have a slight chance of getting when we can get a good player, I remember last year. I want Josh dix for all the reasons you mentioned but he’ll still be in the 20-30 range and is absolutely not worth 2 million dollars. What I’m saying is that if we want to throw 2 M’s at someone, he better be able to play defense which is something he hasn’t had to do. However, I’m sure we have enough money to over pay someone who brings the value that he will on the offensive side of the ball.

TL;DR: I want Josh Dix next year. He’s not worth $2 million

I don't remember if it was the regular season game or the BTT game, but Storr did great for most of the game, then maybe the last 8 min or so, he just didn't do much more, and it sure seemed to me like the effort was gone. My point is, that's when you need him most.

Seemed like we expected action today. Did any of our previous Denzels move in the wrong direction?

Gypsy the fortune tellers says: Twins for certain. Sellers 70%
Dix is lost in the portal and has not found the exit. Can’t make a reading until he exits.
btw… she can rebound tennis balls off the glass better than that dude we lost… can’t remember the name ?

My Illini-collared Misty is not a fortune teller. She’s just patiently waiting, really hoping that the Illini can pull off Indy’s Trifecta. BTW, she’s nicknamed Willie Mays because she makes such fantastic over the shoulder catches..

Why aren't we after this guy? From Chicago, and how many chances in life do you get to land a Boopie?
My dad used to tell me that "any boopie you dont take today, is boopie you can't brag on tomorrow".
