If Hawkins could come back and play I would take that for sure. Ivisic bro's and him sounds good underneath. A headache for opposing D's IMO which doesn't count to B.U.

You would think Illinois fans would get tired of being misled about recruiting by the same people year after year.
I think the term misled infers
Intent to deceive. I am not sure who feels misled but clearly based on the 40+ likes there are people who agree. I just don’t see it that way. I take the information for what it is and always know that it is hearsay and may not be 100% accurate and can change quickly. I mean sharing information and opinions are what most people are here for. I enjoy the sharing but never take it as gospel.

yep, agreed. I submit that those feeling misled aren't doing this right

In what world is Jake Davis a guard?

Question for those in the know about these things.

Which recruits have we landed for whom Zach Hamer was the primary recruiter?

Which recruits have we landed for whom Tyler Underwood was the primary recruiter?

1. This is a dynamic and rapidly changing and inflating system. Where you stand in the pecking order one day is almost certain not to be true the next, and exactly how deep the pockets go isn't known for sure even at one's own school, let alone really knowing about anybody else.

2. That being said I dunno man. KJ, Riley and Tomi will not have been cheap last year. Buying TSJ and CoHawk out of the draft the year before will not have been cheap either. We've flexed quite a bit of muscle in this space.
Anyone here listen to SVPod? He said he talked to some very wealthy MD donors who both agreed to donate "two comma" amounts to the NIL fund in an effort to appease Willard and from what I gathered they didn't take it back when he left.

So I agree... at least until revenue sharing, there are wild swings in this stuff depending on rich guys' moods.

Another "must get" transfer, in my opinion, whose name was brought up in an earlier post, should be 6'4" 180pound Guard Xaivian Lee of Princeton. from Ontario. He averaged 16.9/6.1/5.5 this past season for the Tigers. Good rebound and assist numbers in addition to the 16.9 points per game. He shot 43.9% on FGs, including a solid 36.6% on 3-pointers and 78.9% on FTs. He would be a great fit at Guard playing alongside Kylan Boswell. Both can handle the ball, pass, rebound, and score. a better than 2:1 assist to turnover ratio. Looks to be great on step back jumpers, including both 2s and 3s. A lot to like about this young man. Kentucky is pursuing him hard. I hope that Illinois is too. I'd rather see $$$ going to Lee than what we were willing to spend on Dix.

Love me some Jake! Hoping he steps it up and gets 15-20 quality minutes each game.

I thought he was a little bit too timid last season. With permission from the coaching staff, he probably needs to look for his shot a little more and stop deferring so much.

I hope a year of experience means more confidence and that his shooting goes back to what it was his freshman year. Good to have his scrappiness off the bench as depth.

This is why I've regressed to a position of mild interest and heavy gif sharing. The portal moves fast and lasts most of the off-season, so why get worked up? At this point in the off-season, I'm more concerned about who we can retain/re-sign rather than new people we can bring in.

I'm sure the various posters generally operate on good faith, but it's mpossible for anyone to have up-to-the-minute information other than the players in question.

I'll admit to being antsy about assistant coaches, though
This is the approach I decided to go with this year as well, after last year's roller.coaster. (Save the gifs b/c I have no idea how to share them properly. Lol. )

It is fun to get caught up in, I'll admit. However, the yin-yang last year was exhausting. And my wife got fairly annoyed with amount of time i spent searching for Illini news. 😏

Ultimately, I trust Brad & Co to field a good team next year.
