My wish list after today is Will or Sarr, David Mirkovick, vet PG that can shoot, and barging on Storr unless we somehow could get both Will n Sarr then pass on Storr

Lol who wasn't awful on Kansas though. If you watched them they were a team that just really didn't seem to care much and just out for the check.
Hummer isn't even in the same universe with storr when it comes to talent at all. Bill Self probably aged 10years just this last season. It was a team full of talent who didn't want to play together and that was obvious just watching them. So yes I would pay more for Storr than Hummer because Hummer is only helpful if he makes 3 and doesn't do much else. Storr can do alot more than Hummer and under the right situation and when he does play to his capabilities not much better out there around that price than Storr.

Look… I haven’t been happy with Illinois’ defense these past two years and if that’s all on the shoulders of Hamer he needs to either get better or go. But dear God… the juvenile name calling and constant sniping is bordering on Todd Goldin-level creepy.

The defense has seriously regressed the last 2 years. The last 2 years we’ve been playing a new style of defense and a style that doesn’t work at the NBA level let alone the college level. Maybe it’s just totally coincidence we got a new style of defense and worse statistically over the last 2 years, or maybe there is someone who was installed and is responsible for it.

Ultimately the buck stops with Brad, but it’s still down to one person who is responsible for it IMO.

That’s good to hear -I know his family was happy here and if you are taking another year to make the league, you’d think you’d want to come back to the known quantity/system with coaches you trust and not risk not fitting in somewhere else

I think it might be Mirkovic. DB1 did chime in on him earlier--so that's my guess.

Last years team at least had the ability to turn on the defense when they wanted to. They were just missing a rim protector and Coleman wasnt really big enough to hold up on true bigs, but they still generally had TSJ, Ty, Guerrier, and Coleman on the court a lot.

This years team was just not good defensively.

this current set of players plus the 4 they add - assuming sarr, storr (mixed bag), Mirkovic (hard to project) , and someone else, this is just not athletic enough. we need more athletes and it was a problem this year. if thats the current group of players and storr doesnt play like he did at wisco the team looks pretty average at best...
