Ben has a bench spot if he wants to. If he comes back he might get buried in the depth chart though.
I'm OK with Ben as an extra bench piece if he's willing, you never know when injuries can hit your front line like it did this past season. He can play multiple positions including 5 against smaller teams although he has deficiencies that everyone seems to enjoy pointing out here.

Murkovic as a back up big is fine. Depth move. I still want the Ivisic twins getting 65/80 minutes at the 4/5.

We need to put the rest of our cash towards 2s and 3s. Even a PG would be important bc you really got nothing behind Boswell with DGL gone and the freshman are unknowns

Too bad there’s no room for Sencire in Champaign. The way he turned the UCLA game around was an all time highlight.
Of all the players who transferred out of Illinois, Sencire was my favorite. How he played the game brought a smile to my face that had generally been reserved for Dee Brown and Lucas Johnson. Just a kid out there playing with reckless abandon for the love of the game. He is one of the few who can completely take over a game by doing something other than scoring. And I still think he's a type of guy who is an invaluable player for a championship caliber team to bring off the bench and give 15 minutes of hell and shut down the other team's best guard.

Fact is, for me, Sencire leaving was the moment I truly knew that college basketball would never be the same for me as a fan. To not get to see him spend four years growing in the orange and blue despite knowing he wanted that too... Just sad the current state of basketball. And yes, I realize the changes have overall benefitted the overall quality of our program, perhaps all too well, but it doesn't feel like it benefitted the sport nor my enjoyment of it. Love Sencire, hope he tears it up wherever he goes.

The way I see our roster:

1. Boswell
2.
3.
4.
5. T. Ivisic
6. Ty
7. Z. Ivisic
8.
9. Davis
10. Lee
11. Wagler
12. Jakstys

Need ~3 starters and a role player. If Ben stays, he could slide into that 8th spot.

I hope we build a roster so good it pushes Ty to the 6th man, but could see him starting as well depending on how the next few months play out.

So if we land Mirkovic, what will Ben do?

Sincere commited to Cincinnati. I love Sincere too, only problem is he can’t hit the broad side of a barn. 11% from the arc this year.

Do you actually mean in person or rather real time on TV? Not trying to be smart A, just curious why you’ve seen Sam Houston St play 3 times in person.

I know nothing about his recruitment this time but Cincy being better than VT, Big 12 being better than ACC and him being from Ohio might have had more to do with his choice than VT’s wants.

I was at that game in Vegas and just fell in the love with the kid right there. I wonder if we'll ever have a 4 year player here ever again. I hate what college hoops has become, but I can either yell at the clouds and the kids on my lawn or tune into the Illini. Maybe why I'm on this board at zero dark 30...

65-80 minutes? Penciling those two in for that amount of time would be coaching malpractice. I’d be surprised if T and Z combined average more than 60 minutes. Plenty of tick available for Mirkovic and we’ll need him or someone else to fill it.

If we do indeed add David Mirkovic, will we have enough athleticism on the front line with him, the Ivisic twins, and Jason Jackstys?

Sarr is deciding between entering the draft or coming to Illinois he better be good enough to be starting.
But…if he’s not good enough to start…what’s that saying about the rest of the team

Ty is a 4 year player now, albeit weird one with a junior redshirt

That ref in the background reffed one of our playoff games this year. I heard he was high level and even does Big 3 games. Good ref for sure.
