Fair enough, I guess my definition would be a plus athlete for their position at the power conference level. That includes size/strength and explosiveness.

But yes I agree with you, this years team was drastically lasting in comparison to the true top end team.

I think Ty can bring a lot of that but he isn't super explosive, and Boswell is strong but not overly quick. Zvonimir will bring some length and shot blocking and the other euro does at least look strong.

My wishlist to fill out the roster to complement those guys would be 3 lengthy wing/guard types that are explosive and can switch and matchup 1-4 with at least one of them being able to create their own shot.
No one ever talks about hand eye coordination or being ambidextrous....a gift of being an athlete that kept many fast guys that could jump from being great at basketball. People joke about Bird. Larry had that. Dunks are fun to watch but give me a dude that can jump n run some but has hand eye skills and use both hands. Jokic and Bird say hello!
Boswell is a stud. Let's add Mirkovic and get Will or Sarr and storr.

I know there is all kinds of rumors and false info out there. I know we would loce to have him back , is there much truth to this?

Will Riley and his family are strongly considering a return to college, and Illinois’ NIL organization Icon for Illini is working on an offer that would be competitive compared to the NBA if he was a late first round draft pick, according to the latest Illini Inquirer podcast. Kind of surprising considering Will has appeared as high as 15 on ESPN’s mock draft with how he played late in the season. But he’s also been projected low first round, a position he could definitely improve on given more time. Exciting things ahead either way!

That is exciting to hear- Will and his family seam like genuinely good people. The fact that we didn’t hear any noise when he wasn’t starting is quite the contrast to Morez’s camp.

I do think Will can raise his stock quite a bit by coming back if he’s projected to be late 1st round this year

I’m just wondering if it was Yaxel’s commitment, less NIL money than promised, or something else that prompted the change. I personally would find it funny if he left because of Yaxel, then Yaxel went to the NBA.
I think it’s Yaxel and they are getting Mara now too apparently
