I'm so happy they made this clear. I'd NOT want to waste half a dozen pages on deciphering something we all cannot seem to agree on. Fortunately we still have neck length, growth plates, and now the conundrum of bird to athleticism ratio... But then again, birds aren't real. I'm lost.
:ROFLMAO:

I probably dreamt this…BUT…
Didn’t the United States, ever so briefly, attempt/ at least toy with the idea of going metric ? and collectively everyone just sorta said screw that…that’s just too hard. 😂 Then it was never to be spoke of again…lol

* I apologize for the tangent.
When I was in grade school (mid 1970’s) there was a push to move to the metric system. I believe it was President Carter’s initiative to abolish standard units completely but that fizzled out.

Both of those guys were far more likely to come back than KJ/Riley given their draft spots.

If IL’s plan is done and they are just hoping to get one of those guys back, I don’t think that’s a good plan
Most had written TSJ off on April 8th, 2023. The point isn't that KJ or Will might be back. It's that it's so incredibly early and a lot of things are still to happen between now and when the roster is finally locked down. Here's another example from 2023, Quincy didn't commit until April 24th. Give it time. Trying to guess the plan today is foolish.

On the contrary, Starr & Mirković are still freshman. Have never played D1 B1G basketball. Tons of potential but if they’re relying on them to bring home a championship.
Kylan and Tomi stepped up big time throughout the season but I still have my doubts KB can run an offense. Not trying to be a Debbie downer and I appreciate your insight Lville. Just seems like we’re headed towards a middle of the pack B1G seed. Not what BU was brought in to do.
I think you missed the part about the big ticket transfer….

We had a meeting with Ian Jackson tonight that went very well from what I am told
Good size, great athlete, really good scoring instincts. That would be an awesome fit next to all the plus-passers on our team. And you just know he’s ready to show the world how good he is, he flashed it a few times last year.

I mean, we all want more success, but by all accounts, last year’s recruiting class was one of the best — if not THE best in Illinois history. The problem is, we are in a much different era where you have to capitalize on that success immediately. Imagine if players like Nick Anderson, Kenny Battle, Dee Brown, Deron Williams and Luther Head all left after one year. Battle and Anderson had a royal flameout in the NCAA their first year against Villanova and Dee and Deron didn’t fare much better against Notre Dame their first time out.

We’ll know more about that last recruiting class next year, despite losing KJ and Morez. The team success may come next year when Tomi, Kylan and perhaps even Hummer mesh with a new batch of recruits. And if Riley returns… watch out!
1988 tournament...too soon. And, in the spirit of today's debate:

I keep seeing folks use Jokic or Doncic as a comparative. This feels like the old "athletic Larry Bird" stuff to me. It is beyond unlikely this guy is somehow one of the top 5-10 players in the world.

I can get more comfortable with a Damask comp, though I don't know how far in the tourney we get with that. But it seems silly to compare 2 all time great players who are unathletic for the NBA with a guy who looks much less athletic than his Euro League.
That's a very valid argument. And only time will tell in this matter. I really hope that in his case he just doesn't rely on his athleticism to score and just uses his other skills. That's really where the comp comes from in my regards. Definitely not comparing his ability to those two superstars. I just believe his game could have a similar impact for us. Great points you make though.
