I wish one of our insiders would whisper the name Jamichael Stillwell in the staff's ear. I am a UWMilwaukee grad... he played there this year. He is a little undersized as he is listed as a power forward, but he's 6'8" (225). Obviously a step up from Milwaukee to the big ten, is no cake walk, but athletically he's there. He was one of the nation's best offensive rebounder. He hustles, he defends, and he would make our team's overall athleticism improve, and I imagine he would probably be pretty affordable. He's ranked as a top 60 portaler on 247... Him and Ty rebounding?? Little suspect from deep, but that wouldn't be his role. He had to shot chuck some at UWM... (we struggled offensively as a unit) Good enough from deep that they can't guard him like rajon rondo got guarded towards the end of his career (or how Ty was getting guarded two years ago). We have talked about an athletic four who rebounds... why can't my man Jamichael be that? He would be the definition of an EDG too...

Dallas Mavericks Sport GIF by NBA

Lukas seem to have a pretty good hit rate (Doncic, Garza)

I'm on board - he'll be 22 when the season starts and he's a very good 3pt and FT shooter - he can play primarily at SG but also be the backup PG he's physically ready for the Big Ten now. I'd feel better about him if we had another SG so we're not totally betting on him to be the starter, but I think he's play a lot regardless. He entered and withdrew from the NBA draft in 2024, so he would be taking another year to up his profile. It seems we've found a bit of a CBB hack - get the 22 year olds that are still eligible for CBB that have been playing in pro leagues who's games translate right away. Obviously being Mirkovic's teammate now would help both of them acclimate - sign him up!

Yes, silly to be saying this if it is Morez, St. But to be fair, seems like more than a couple of people on here share similar thoughts.

I didn't see one thunderous dunk in those highlights so I think I know how this is going to go...
I don't think Thunder dunks are an important part of being a PG. Our own best ever Dwill or this years best in the B10 Braden Smith didn't have many if any. Maybe Steve Nash, Stockton. CP3 or Curry have but I don't recall any. If our pg can handle the ball, pressure, shoot, pass and lead I could care less if our next PG ever dunks. Hell Curry said he isn't dunking again in his career. It's not that important as a PG.

I'm wondering what is preventing older players who have never played in the U.S. from eligibility. It doesn't appear they are strictly enforcing the rules about professional contracts anymore. I mean, based on a simple google search, it looks like Bogavac has signed not one, but two professional contracts, so if they allow him but start enforcing that only for older players, I don't see how the courts don't end up having an issue with that.

Or is the NBA rule that international players that are over 22 are automatically entered into the draft? If so, I could see that drawing a lawsuit as well. If I'm a 24-year old who wants to play NCAA ball, and I'm told I can't because a completely separate organization entered me into a draft process without my consent, I don't see how that passes legal muster.

Unreal that fan accounts chirp players and parents on twitter. Just stop. Zero sum game.

This has to be the mystery guy, right?

Others have hinted that it's another not-so-athletic wing that can shoot (although his 3FG% isn't amazing). If Illinois can somehow land Ian Jackson (and I want announcers to say his entire name like "COOPER FLAGG!"), I'm assuming Stojakovic is off the table?

We're aiming to answer the age-old question "can a European men's professional basketball club win an NCAA Championship?"
Right… has SC derby even been a good team? Would they be considered a G league team? Or is it a club team that acts as a Farm team for the university of Illinois now?

Ian Jackson is a perfect fit for this system. Great shooter, plus athlete, good defender. Does well getting over ball screens
Oh and he happens to be 50% from the corner 3.
I'd feel MUCH better about our team if we had a couple freak athletes to pair with our skilled bigs.

I think people see euros and think preppy western euros, not junkyard dog serb euros. they're tough.

They are currently 11th in the ABA with a 10-16 record. A G League team would probably blow them out of the water to be honest, because G League teams are full of guys that are almost good enough to be in the NBA, whereas on ABA teams there might be one or two guys on each team that are almost good enough to be in the NBA.

But on the other hand an NBA G League team would almost certainly be good enough to win an NCAA championship.
