I'm not trying to hate on the guy, but really??!! He brings experience, but will he be ok with the role he will get or get relegated to if we have a young guy step up like will Riley did? Is he going to be a plus addition to the locker room? I would have reservations but I do remember him saying that leaving illinois was a big regret (that was him wasn't it?). Have those voices around him settled down? Risk/reward...is it there?
From a pure statistical profile and role we’re looking for he would be great as a third guard. A senior who shoots 43% from three on decent volume, doesn’t turn the ball over that much, can rebound and assist a little and hold his own defensively. But I agree with you on the role- he’s started everywhere he’s been, so is he going to accept his role? He likely realizes this is his last dance given he’s not NBA bound so maybe he just wants a chance to be in a good team and have a great experience- which would be a really mature decision

But if he’s in for the role- I say, sign him up. It would be a great redemption story, Brad wasn’t lying when he said you are always part of the family. (You were thinking of Skyy Clark, btw, who said leaving Illinois was a big mistake according to TA interviews)

There is also this, but it might make me want him even more 😀https://arizonasports.com/ncaa/arizona-state-basketball/asu-adam-miller-ejected/3572755/

Adam Miller - woof.

A small shooting guard that can't shoot. College career 38% shooter that's 34% from 3. Any guesses of the much maligned Humrichous's shooting stats for the Illini this past season? It's time to give up the ghost with Miller. He was a hyped Illinois high school kid that simply isn't/wasnt and never will be a good high major player. Guy is a mid major talent. A 5th season needed to prove that?

Really scraping the bottom of the barrel here. At least we get "vet leadership" with Miller. Nope, he was ejected twice with the Sun Devils this past season that lacked absolutely any sort of leadership. Having unfortunately having the displeasure of seeing a lot of Sun Devil games here, Miller wouldn't even rank in their top 4 player targets via transfer portal on just an abysmal Sun Devil squad (Quaintance/Sanon/Ali/Freeman)

Id hope we're talking a walk on spot here

pretty much this. Miller is obviously not a true PG, but he has CG skills. he can spell Boz, thus eliminating the need for a backup point. assuming his head's on straight, bring him on

Really don’t know what to make of the possibility of Adam Miller coming back. First, I will say that I’ve probably only seen him play 3-5 minutes in a uniform other than an Illini one. Is he capable of giving some backup minutes at PG as well as minutes at the 2? I wasn’t sold on him spending some time at the 1!his first go-around. Second, though it seems like most are figuring Miller to be more of an off the bench guy for Illini, is that truly what he is being sold? From a fan perspective, it would seem to be pretty underwhelming if he is being brought in to start after all that has been discussed on here about who might come in. Does that mean the other 2 they’d bring in (per LvilleILL1) wouldn’t be a stud but rather more a steady player like AM?

It would have to be a bit humbling for Adam to come back to Illini in the role we seem to envision for him. That’s a great sign of growth (again, if that is actually to role being sold to him. But we’re talking about a guy who has started 113 of 117 of the games he’s played in college and averaged 30 mpg. So why would he be on board for very possibly coming off the bench? The record of the teams he’s played on since leaving (41-54 overall; 14-44 in conference) and this year’s Crown being the only postseason he’s experienced outside of an Illini uniform could have a lot to do with it.

I’d be happy to see AM back in an Illinois uniform under the right circumstances. But if that circumstance is him starting, I’m not sure how good this team will be next year. If he is being sold on (and willing to accept) a 3 and D role in which he averages 20-25 mpg with a few of those at PG, I’d love him back. Let’s hope both BU and AM are honest with each other and their expectations. If not, could end up a bad situation. If so, AM could get back to NCAAT and go further than his initial tourney experience.

I'm good on bringing Miller back as a backup option. He'll bring a ton of experience, a ton of games played, shot the ball well last year and could get time at either guard spot.

I would welcome him back.

Personally would hate bringing Miller/his family back after what they did. There’s better players out there who haven’t tarnished our name.
Always seemed like an every day guy to me. And while he did leave, he did so much more graciously than some others have. Plus there’s something about getting a starter back from a 1 seed (Ace) and an elite eight team (Ty) that I like

I am excited to see how this roster rounds out. Ace and Sarr would be really really good adds and plug some holes. Still think we need to add a guy who can just go get one if we need it. Tyler will have his work cut out, but this offense could be really fun to watch.

Adam didn’t tarnish our name. He’s been respectful and supportive of this program and his former teammates ever since he left. This isn’t some kid who we have to worry about with his family about playing time and where he projects in the program. He is a 23 year old man now and this is the end of the road for him in college basketball. His parents/family/camp has no leverage to cause a fuss whatsoever. If he wants to come here and play in whatever role he earns, that’s absolutely fantastic, and I’ll be very glad to have him back.

I think Miller and Clark made their choice when they left. I say keep the door Closed. I remember Bo Schembechler saying we only want Michigan men playing for Michigan. I echo those words play only Illinois men who want to be here.

Bith Mirkovic and Sarr look ready to contribute at the college level right away. Sarr definitely has NBA potential but don't think he's there yet. Give Mirkovic some time with Fletch and he's going to be an absolute load.

Quoting myself here but I see some Kevin Love comp for Mirkovic. Strongly built, below the rim PF who is good in the post, can hit 3s, good passer, and a good rebounder despite the lack of verticality (Love was a vacuum cleaner on the glass)

Adam Miller always handled himself well both on and off the court, if I remember correctly. He followed his mother's wishes, (right or wrong), even though they conflicted with his own. I was disappointed as a fan. But in today's world, at age 18, following the advise of your mom is pretty admirable. I don't think we should hold it against him for respecting his mothers wishes. JMHO.

Sarr and Riley would be quite a wing combo. And we have enough NIL to pull it off if WR decides to come back.

Agree. Just hard to envision him helping the team win borderline games. Perhaps if he had lockdown D skills.

Soft pass for me. Obviously I trust the staff and don’t take myself too seriously on this.
