I truly found it incredible how many people just tore into Adam Miller wanting to come back here... The kid was listening to his mother, as most 18 year olds should do more of. Not to mention, I don't know if people remember the last game he played as an Illini but he was 1 of 2 people on the court that didn't give up until the game was over.

Just last week it was about 'leggings' and that feedback (which I supported) was apparently heard because that word has not been used since. Maybe you'd prefer he just goes away, like other 'certain insiders' have chosen to do at times? I would not, as I appreciate all the info here. Each reader can take it with his or her own grain of salt.
Some segment of the large-donating public is unhappy. Believe or don't believe whatever whispers you like, but if the money dries up the program dries up. And that angers some here, both insiders and regular folks.
Dame Sarr is 6'9", over 7ft wing span. 9.5 in hands, only 18, high level athlete, pretty good shooter, trending up, a former starting pro already, and very likely a top pick in 2026 If he plays college at all. Will was good as a freshman but ill be surprised if Sarr doesn't have a better season if he plays in college. However, even though I think Sarr excell eventually in the NBA and Will will do well. I also think Watkins is capable of being a better college player next season and certainly a better value. So, I guess what I'm saying is I get where Brad's coming from trying to maxize our dollar!
I just don't value Barcelona's opinion on the matter. It'd be like a guy playing for an indoor football league and the NFL came calling. Like sorry guys, you're one of many feeder leagues to the NBA and now the NCAA. Know your place and let the guy hoop.

To be fair to Sarr, it appears he was granted permission to attend the Nike Hoops Summit months ago, but Barca revoked the permission when it turned out they needed him more due to injuries. Still may not be great, but important context.
Whoever they add needs to be older. Freshmen, unless they are uber elite, aren’t going to take you where you want to go. Experience matters.
I have no idea if it’s realistic or not, but Jamir Watkins is very, very good and he’s played a TON of college ball.
That’s one reason I am on the Miller train. A ton of experience. Having veteran guys leads to more consistency, for the most part.

No snark, how exactly does one lock anyone up in a contract-free world? Morez signed an NIL deal and then walked away from it. Brad could have offered $2M a month ago, got a commitment, and that would not have changed things one bit when Miami called him today saying $3M+.
This is exactly what I'm thinking. Seeing all these posts about "X isn't worth that much" and "you can't pay that much for X when you could get Y and be almost as good" is how teams waste a season. When there is no salary cap (just like MLB) there is nothing artificially keeping values down, so they'll rise with the number of teams spending, and unfortunately for us there's a lot more Division 1 basketball teams than MLB teams. Yes, just like the MLB, spending doesn't guarantee success, but it definitely helps. Smart spending is an oxymoron.
The more fun question is if JW actively read on here and even used the board, what would his username be?
