Yes. He is basically a more athletic Domask, love that comp. Would be a monster get-he's a first team all league guy and a possible AA next year.
The critical comp is can he make that fader at the % MD did? Marcus was exceptional....but Pickett was incredible. The shot is not difficult to make 60%+....if you know something about what it important and practice it a bit.

I know many would disagree but a line up that consists of CBM, Kylan, Tomi and Stoja has me absolutely foaming at the mouth from both an offensive and defensive stance.

From what @Indy Illini Fan posted about CBM asking price very unlikely we are even on the radar but holy cow thats a group I would be excited about.

Especially when it’s not their money they’re tossing around! 🤣

If I had the money, I’d put $3MM on Watkins, but I’d get advertising rights, so when he makes a lay-up or something, the announcer is contractually required to say, “Bucket by Jamir Watkins, Brought to You by and 69 others,” and he has to wear a patch with my picture on his jersey.

I approve of this but only if the patch has the picture in your avatar

We keep landing these Eastern Europeans and we’re gonna attract some nice NIL from the cig companies.

Davis would definitely be my priority over Miller but we don't do much that makes sense. We don't ever go about it the easy way to fill our roster. We keep waiting on top tier transfers who are just waiting for better offers. Remember the guy who had supposedly verbally committed to us but still wanted to finish out his other recruiting visits and then signed with one of them. I can't believe we fell for that.

If we get Andrej for ~ $2.5M, then you can at least go to donors and pitch the need for Haggerty or another home run SG to be a title contender at least
Id definitely lean towards splurging on two guys and go value shopping for an 8th man like a Justin Harmon type.

Wonder if the staff has any interest in Arceaneaux. Lockdown defender, his shooting and offensive numbers took a jump this year and it's possible they could further improve playing in a system with more pace and space. Also, could see a boost in year 2 of recovery from an Achilles injury.

Used my elite photoshop skills to give y’all an idea of how Dainja would look in 🔶🔷
Having seen his skill level, he has the best scoring game around the basket of any Illini player ever....but get him more than 7 ft. away and that drops dramatically. He was better at the line last year, and can be even better if he knew what was important. But he may be exactly what this team needs and I would love to see him in that uniform next year.

Agreed 100%. We lack continuity as a program whether it’s player continuity or coaching continuity. (Obviously it’s both
We have very, very limited retention year on year.
Our coaching staff turnover has been very high over the past number of years. I’m thrilled we were able to bring back KB, Tomi, TY, Jake, and JJ. We still need another 6 or 7 additions.
Regarding coaching, who are the Xs and Os strategists and tacticians? We consistently fail with in game adjustments, and our defense is horrific. Top 15 offense from Tyler? Nah. Skilled players that performed offensively because they were skilled players when they got here. Honestly, we weren’t running some crazy, unique system that no one else can run.
Heck, I don’t even know how to define our culture at this point. We went from every day guys, to a development program, to a Euro pipeline, to one and done hopefuls, to God knows what’s next?

We need our young players to love our program and our culture, to feel valued and respected, to maximize their development, to retain them, while compensating them fairly. If we can retain more players and need to fill a couple roster spots through the portal, we can likely be more successful. The current system has gotten us one elite 8 and a bunch of first weekend exits.
One way to improve coaching continuity is to keep Hamer.

I will say Dain and/or Ace coming back would help a lot with perception around Underwood just tossing his rosters in the trash after each season. Guys coming back would speak volumes.
I agree bringing back guys who originally transferred is a good look, but Is this perception any different than what is going on everywhere in D1? He did keep Bos, Ty, Davis, and Tomi.

How many minutes would he play and where? 3-center lineup with Ivisic bros.?
Neither can score at the rim like the Dancing Bear....but both can hit the three ball at 4 to 5 times his %. Different strengths needed at different places and different times. Not likely to see all three together but with Mirk along, that is a really great frontcourt sharing minutes. I would love it but do not see it happening.

I just don't see the fit next to the twins, Mirk, and even Ty.

I think any remaining budget has to go to wings/guards.

This good look stuff no player cares about, they only care about the almighty $.

Despite everything so far, there are still going to be fringe NBA guys going to the transfer portal after the combine, right?

If we can’t come up with 6m for 2 starters and our first guy off the bench, we can’t compete.

Purdue’s probably 15m deep at this point.
Lucky for us….. like almost EVERY team in the country 7 of them will hardly play or not play at all.
