My question would be if we do bring back Humbuckethous - and hypothetically speaking we bring in Andrej and Ace - that would make 9 guys who all expect to play, so the third guy would be the 9th guy off the bench (with Jake as the 10th guy), essentially a DGL type role, I don't know who we can attract to take that kind of 5-7min role as a backup PG/4th guard type role. The third guy would be the last add after ideally the first two are done.
I think they will look for a younger guard that they can sell development and 8-10 minutes a game to.My question would be if we do bring back Humbuckethous - and hypothetically speaking we bring in Andrej and Ace - that would make 9 guys who all expect to play, so the third guy would be the 9th guy off the bench (with Jake as the 10th guy), essentially a DGL type role, I don't know who we can attract to take that kind of 5-7min role as a backup PG/4th guard type role.
Maybe there is a grad transfer/5th year type guy who just wants to play for a winning team and contribute that will do that role, those are tough to find in the portal. Otherwise, we'll have to rely on one of the freshman to play this year, maybe Lee can play that role.
If Kylan can shoot a decent percentage from the three-point line he will be on one of the all-conference teams next season. But that isn't a misplaced expectation.
5 Star talent
3 years collegiate experience
Got better as the year went on/hard worker
Another year in the system/confidence/continuity
Showcasing for pro ball
Add someone who he can dish to and make 3’s and all the pieces are there for a stud senior season from him.
Except for the backup PG factor I am deeply unconvinced that would be a better player than Jake Davis, who like all of our returnees is being underrated in these conversations.I think they will look for a younger guard that they can sell development and 8-10 minutes a game to.
Too soon…Everything is fine, good night!![]()
So he entered the transfer portal... why?
Yes …
Unless Will's NBA draft stock tanks he's not coming backNow this is true though - if we allegedly how 5.5M remaining, and the forefront names we're thinking of are Andrej and Miller.... they'll be pricey, but they (combined) can't possibly cost 5 million. Should have some left over for another quality get? Maybe saving for Will just in case?
I am a big Jake Davis guy. He’s a better shooter than he showed last year. I expect his three-point shooting percentage to go up a little bit.Except for the backup PG factor I am deeply unconvinced that would be a better player than Jake Davis, who like all of our returnees is being underrated in these conversations.
Will coming back is the only thing that makes this roster a F4 team/National Contender. Now this is true though - if we allegedly how 5.5M remaining, and the forefront names we're thinking of are Andrej and Miller.... they'll be pricey, but they (combined) can't possibly cost 5 million. I know money trumps all but assuming Calmese is also weighing starting and playing time into his decision. If it’s me …
I’m not bringing Ben back …
I’m bringing in Andrej, Ace, Monsanto, and Nate Calmese …
I like the Calmese kid and Wake Forest bag ain’t tough to beat …
IMO - we need a proven point guard … Old … Veteran …
Brad will likely go about things differently …
Very fair. Worse case it's just another body in practice.Except for the backup PG factor I am deeply unconvinced that would be a better player than Jake Davis, who like all of our returnees is being underrated in these conversations.
By soon, I was expecting 9:32 a.m. but that’s just my Friday talkingShould have some clarity on Adam soon:
Option One: takes a little bit less money and comes home/wants to win at Illinois.
Option Two: highest bidder.
I would lean Illinois, but won't be surprised either way.
Also, never know with the portal, but I expect Andrej to be committed to Illinois within the next week.
WTH is going on around here.I too get things wrong, folks!
