My question would be if we do bring back Humbuckethous - and hypothetically speaking we bring in Andrej and Ace - that would make 9 guys who all expect to play, so the third guy would be the 9th guy off the bench (with Jake as the 10th guy), essentially a DGL type role, I don't know who we can attract to take that kind of 5-7min role as a backup PG/4th guard type role.
Maybe there is a grad transfer/5th year type guy who just wants to play for a winning team and contribute that will do that role, those are tough to find in the portal. Otherwise, we'll have to rely on one of the freshman to play this year, maybe Lee can play that role.
Both of these are fair, but also can't just put all your chips in one basket either - especially when it's like the most coveted recruitment in the country.
What does entering the portal accomplish with no eligibility? Can’t hang it up?
I think they will look for a younger guard that they can sell development and 8-10 minutes a game to.
If Kylan can shoot a decent percentage from the three-point line he will be on one of the all-conference teams next season.
In regards to Maddox…he’s applying for a waiver but it’s more of a Hail Mary attempt…even if it gets approved he will most likely be gone because it sounds like Xavier will not have enough $$$ to bring him back and there would be issues with timing….

Except for the backup PG factor I am deeply unconvinced that would be a better player than Jake Davis, who like all of our returnees is being underrated in these conversations.

Davis is more than a great option as a 10th guy. We just need another emergency PG however.

I am a big Jake Davis guy. He’s a better shooter than he showed last year. I expect his three-point shooting percentage to go up a little bit.

Will coming back is the only thing that makes this roster a F4 team/National Contender.
Him running point and taking pressure off Kylan is the only way I'm buying Contention hopes.
And he's not coming back
2.5-3 million for a player with the poor offensive efficiency numbers Andrej had in a weak conference. Ouch.
I know money trumps all but assuming Calmese is also weighing starting and playing time into his decision.
Very fair. Worse case it's just another body in practice.
No player is worth 4 million, not one of them.
