Too many hands in the cookie jar IRT Adam Miller. Moving on is starting to look like a good option.

There are better options who are more versatile anyway.

I will believe Miller really wanted to come back when the ink is dry on the Big Ten tender of financial aid.

Devin Cleveland recruitment is a bargaining chip in this deal, btw. Not sure I’ve seen anyone mention that.

Is there even a concept of lock him up anymore? Itf Adam has been out priced then that's prudent by the staff. I hated him leaving the first time but clearly he hasn't shown that has a big time difference maker since he left. Good player, no doubt but he has a role and if he isn't ready to accept that... Move on.

Let's lock of peja jr and we fill a huge hole. Outside of nostalgia, Miller can be replaced in terms of what he brings. Clearly I prefer the get 2 studs and figure the rest out approach but I'm not managing the budget.

I really don't get the inflation is bad thing.... It's natural economics. It will go until end of first round money in NBA gets to less than or around what college pays... Because it can be certainty for the player (if the school delivers) and the NBA is much more circumstance dependent ( look at tsj behind ant). Why wouldn't you showcase your skills and still get paid and get playing time. Get ready it's goin that way

I never believed Adam was content to come in and play whatever role he got at Illinois and wanted to be on a “winning team” again. For the price and the drama, as you say, move on. Maybe if the staff is convinced it pays off with another recruit but let’s call a spade a spade. If its a Mac Irvin Fire player, the chances of the bargaining chip actually plays a year at Illinois? Slim. More than a year? Next to no chance. There’s just no reason to get payed by the Chicago sports BS. This ain’t a year of prime Jabari Parker we’re talking about either.

I have thought from the time I heard Irvin was involved getting Miller that Devin Cleveland was also being used as a bargaining chip.

Heading to the casino to most likely lose my money. Expect a Loyalty after dark post if it goes well...

The fact that Adam Miller's entertaining a bidding war is all I need to know regarding his supposed character growth. I fully believe players deserve to get paid their worth, but if he truly wanted to come here and reclaim whatever it is he lost, he'd take what I'd assume Illinois offered as a reasonable amount of money rather than let this play out. I hope our staff stands pat and if he wants more money and goes elsewhere more power to him.

Yeah, scratch Miller off the list. I'm not the hugest fan of 2nd chances when it come to work/financial arrangements, that's EXACTLY what this is. And please save me the 'Familly' rhetoric. They mostly NEVER work out. This is one of those times. HUGE mistake to leave UI in the first place. Miller could be in an entirely different place right now had he stuck it out. A textbook example of "The grass is NOT always greener"........

He is not a prodigal son. He is just shopping for his next payout

If we were willing to play zone, I’d feel ok with this group. But it is still woefully unathletic and one of the freshman guards may get minutes bc Kylan can’t play 40.

Please move on from Miller. 3 bad teams, he was average on a very good team 3 years ago and didn't focus and improve his game the last 3 years. It'd be one thing if he just loved the idea of coming back and was taking a huge discount and not dragging out the process. Rescind and move on.

The first sentence doesn't compute with the subsequent phrase. Who knows what the future has in store for Adam Miller? He may never have an opportunity to get paid and take care of his family as much as this in the rest of his life. Why I'm reading here that Adam's efforts to find the best possible opportunity for him and for those he loves means anything negative regarding "his supposed character growth" is completely beyond me.

Yeah, I was sort of disappointed in that the first thing I saw online AFTER reading about his potential interest in returning to Champaign was an article that said, "Adam Miller tells us the following 15 schools are pursuing him the hardest."

It was as if he was stirring the pot and setting the stage for a bidding war. Kudos to him if that's the route he wants to take. I just wouldn't attempt to play the coaches and the fans at the school that just offered to (sentimentally) take you back with open arms.

I have said it before. I don't think Brad is a player's coach. He is good at yelling and cussing but he is not the kind of guy that can set down with a kid and talk to a kid and teach him about the right way to play the game.

A player’s desires aren’t binary. Just because he is considering options that throw ungodly sums of money that we can’t comprehend, doesn’t mean he isn’t serious about wanting to come back here. I would love to see you try to make an important life decision and have people try to sway you with millions of dollars and see what you do.

Also, we keep saying that we assume what Illinois is offering is a reasonable amount of money. Well if a bunch of teams are offering him more, then we simply aren’t offering the market rate, and we are asking him to take a discount. That isn’t automatically “reasonable.”

I really want him to come, and I will be really disappointed if he doesn’t. But let’s not disparage him if he doesn’t come by saying he didn’t really want to come back here. He has to make the best decision for him, when this very well may be his final pay day. If he passes on coming home, it doesn’t mean he didn’t want to come here. It may just mean we refused to pay his competitive rate.

Staff wanted this wrapped up quickly and it’s Irvin so that was never gonna happen … It’s the same thing that happened the first time around … They waited until after signing day to commit …

Think Brad is starting to get a little frustrated by the whole thing …

Either take the offer and get on board … Or don’t and we’ll go our separate ways …
Miller can kick rocks. If they are up to the same shenanigans as last time why even deal with it? Is he gonna pout when things don't go his way? I'll take a pass on "ACE"
