Has a roster this European ever been put together before at the collegiate level? This has to be a first.
The funny thing is not only is this roster very European, its very much a specific, relatively small part of Europe. You're looking at a huge chunk of minutes all from countries that used to be part of Yugoslavia (even if you don't count Andrej, which you probably shouldn't, because he grew up in California).

Just need one player each from Bosnia, Slovenia, and Macedonia.

Looks like it’s time to start scheduling some Illini 'home' games in Europe?

Why not make it easy for these guy families and friends to see their beloveds play real ‘American’ ball from their nearby environs. Might give the Illini a future leg-up on Euro talent in the years ahead. Paint the Euro Theater Orange and Blue.

Hey, the White Sox once played ‘home’ games for while in Milwaukee. And now, the Las Vegas (maybe) A’s are playing home games in Sacramento. The World is now our home.

Home is where the heart is. Or, other considerations...

If nothing else, the changing landscape of college basketball is going to be interesting to watch. AAU teams watching their players lose spots to grad-transfer-age Europeans is going to cause some significant stress in the back rooms.

Someone tell me if I should be excited or meh?
Petrovic was once big time prospect. Had really good profile, high IQ, skilled PG, more of a pure point than combo guard but he can run the team, or in your case probably bench unit. Only reason he wasnt as hot as before are injuries. He had few injuries that kinda derailed his progress but this season he is back and played better than anticipated. He reminded people of player that he was projected to be and had some really good games this season. It took him time to grow into his body and i think that also played a role in him getting injured.

He isnt crazy athletic but he can still push the ball and set others up, think Tyus Jones profile with slighty worse 3pt shooting.

Not even a debbie downer.... this is just putting the cart before the horse. we do this every off-season. first let's get to a point with solid foundation.

Is this guy the son of the teammate of Drazen Petrovic who changed his last name to Petrovic after Drazen's accident/death? I remember a 30-for-30 on Drazen and there was a guy named Mihailo who was close friend of his... and, like I say, he changed his last name to Petrovic... I really want to say his name was Mihailo...

Now I've got to look this up and watch it again...

You sir are a very valuable poster now!

Petrovic is not going to be an NBA prospect just due to lack of measurables most likely, but this is a really, really good basketball player. Pick your undersized college floor general as a comp and then imagine what they would be like the year after their senior year if they had spent all their hours working on their game instead of going to class the prior four years.

Come on. No way the NCAA allows this.

If they do, schools should stop bothering going to AAU tournaments. This will be the whole marketplace.
