All of this good news, and there’s a track to the 2026 final four that’s STL > Chicago > Indianapolis.

How many days until 2025-2026 college basketball season? Illinois marketing team will have to work overtime to “quench the thirst” this offseason.

This probably isn't going to be the most common opinion, but I'd take Fland over Claude. The fit makes much more sense. Stojakovic and Claude together on the same team... a bit meh of a fit there. Plus, Boogie provides the scoring spark as a combo this team is missing to thrive as well as the deadeye shooting. Petrovic seems like more of a PG than SG.

But i'd take either in a heartbeat and be ecstatic (and Claude may be the slighltly better overall player at this point).
The fit makes way more sense with fland. with claude this team will have too many players of the same mold - big wing, operate in the mid post, not great shooting the ball. plus we really need shooting - fland is a very good shooter.

but would love either just like you said - either would elevate this team to a national contender imo.

Maybe I should ask the top 25 or top 10 question again if they possibly get a player like Claude or Fland as well

I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess one of you so called “experts” runs this site. Sunday night I let it out that we would be getting our next played before the end of the week as long as both sides can come to an acceptable agreement.
Guess what?
It’s gone.
You have a problem with a true insider?
Scary huh? I don’t post much unless I’m sure. And I’ve always been right.
STOP DELETING MY COMMENTS AND AND REPEATING IT SO YOU CAN KEEP YOUR “no insider”. You’re fake

I actually think it's the opposite. I don't really see the fit with Fland and it wouldn't really line up with Brads recent love of positional size by playing 3 guys that are 6'2.

I think if the Illini are going to make another splash i would expect it to be a 6'4-6'7 combo guard/wing.

Obviously Fland is an exciting and explosive athlete but I actually thought Arkansas was better when he didn't play. He was an incredibly inefficient scorer and they were better off when Davis got healthy and took the lead role with Thiero.

Now that being said guys like that can make jumps from year 1 to year 2 but I'd prefer an older and stronger guard in Claude vs Fland(or someone like Watkins, etc.)

I just re-watched the 6 min highlight reel of Petrovic.
IMVHO:
The pro's:
- very active
- drives the lane fearlessly
- agile and quick enough to navigate around traffic
- strong enough to finish thru traffic
The con's:
- didn't see much facilitating
- didn't come close to dunking - really think he is nowhere near 6'3"
- noone was playing much D against him
Net:
- glad to have him
- don't think he is going to take over for Bam
