Claude is going for a wad of dough. So is Boogie. If we added one of those guys at the end, that would take a lot of eggs.

We’re going to be very active … Let’s just say some donors that had some reservations are starting to see the full picture …

Many saw what Kentucky was spending for this year and what a handful of others and said okay … We need to give more if we want to compete at a higher level …

Now they ain’t forking over huge coin for mid major players but if Brad and O can get a Boogie or Claude and it comes down to money within a certain range … I’ve heard there will be support … Beyond the resources already at our staffs disposal … Similar to the Will Riley situation last year …

. . . and why not? Let's shoot for the damn stars and see what happens. I believe an author said something to the effect of: If you wish to reach for the damn stars, then build yourself bigger ladder! Now, let's do this BU, staff and donors!

I'm not Indy or Lville but I talked to a donor that said Riley to the draft isn't a done deal.

Interested to hear from Indy since I remember him saying if he were to return there isnt even a guarantee it is back to Illinois, but there are some donors who were told a Riley package needs to be on reserve.

I guess I'm confused about the idea of signing Fland or any true PG now. How would he fit on the roster? Who starts? Obviously he would be. From what I've seen and heard we signed Petrovic to start alongside Kylan. So where does a 6'1 Fland fit in? I know he's a fun big name to talk about, but not sure how he comes without causing some roster issues. Even Claude creates some issues, but at 6'6 I could see a lineup that goes without a true starting PF and has another athletic wing playing alongside Andrej(who we are hopefully in a good position to get). That linup would work, but I think you struggle a lot if you start 3 guys 6'4 or smaller along with a wing + Tomi. I think fans have a problem sometimes falling in love with the idea of signing a big name or a big talent without considering the realities of it.

Riley is going to the league …

Donors have been made aware we might be able to get a Riley type of player at the last minute like we did last year though …

Dope thanks Indy. He has one of widest ranges of where people see him being drafted I've ever seen so figured if he didn't test out well there would be a chance.

I'm glad to see this. Outside of the players and their brokers/handlers, nobody and I need nobody likes where college sports is at and it will probably get worse before it gets better. I'm not sure ANYBODY knew how off the rails that the money situation was going to go and how many programs were going to drive the market.

I can't fault any donor for having an initial shock. I think we're all kind of in awe.

That said, the bar has been set and everyone has to look in the mirror and decide how much winning and being a true threat is worth to them. When does the wallet close? At some point, it has to end and I'm hoping is that all programs, without illegally talking behind the scenes, come to the same conclusion or have the government step in(highly doubt it) or NCAA(yeah right) step in to regulate it.

Glad that our group is recognizing what is needed to compete at the highest of levels, but at the same time.....watching the prep recruits get left behind and the balance that makes college basketball great fall apart.

Hopefully this last NCAA Tournament(no upsets, blowouts in first round games and chalks winning) will be the outlier and not the rule.

Kind of a weird mishmash of players for all that money. I assume Oweh is coming back, are they getting Watkins too?

Is there a surefire NBA player in the bunch? Quaintance I guess?

Great depth allowed them to survive the injury bug last year, and I like Pope as a coach, but that's not how I would have spent $21MM
