Riley is going to the league …

Donors have been made aware we might be able to get a Riley type of player at the last minute like we did last year though …

I was one of the people roasting Underwood a couple weeks ago about the lack of roster additions. I was impatient and now I can say….
Super Troopers Oops GIF by Searchlight Pictures

LOL yeah 4 days ago the staff was a bunch of 3rd rate YMCA coaches who couldn't get any players to visit because they're all toxic and there's a whisper campaign and zero donor support

Wouldn't go as far as to say anyone is an idiot, although the obsession with other men's pants was definitely sorta weird tho (not saying you)

that's 24mil.

aberdeen at 3mil is bonkers but i believe it was reported at 2mil. either way is insane.

if averaging 5PPG (literally) gets you 2-3mil .... flat out ridiculous.

Sorry … Typing fast … Aberdeen got 2 …

A couple of those guys got some additional things besides cash and some money is tied to certain things … That’s what Goodman is failing to include in his evaluation that I’m choosing to include …

I love our crazy fanbase, the only difference is that the other lunatics are rooting for the wrong team. Think of us less like a cult and more like Fight Club :ROFLMAO:
I wish I'd saved the link, there was a list of the most vicious online rivalries in college basketball and one of them was "Illinois vs Illinois" which is so funny and true.

God bless you maniacs.

It's only concerning because we missed so many last year. Look at what St. Johns and Michigan State did. Underwood's in game lack of adjustments can be annoying, but he has always set up his offensive scheme to fit his players.

That's way, way better, no?
I agree - they filled their team with depth and a lot of role players for $21M but outside of Oweh (if he comes back) they don't have any alpha scorers , kind of an odd roster construction if you have that big of a bag to work with, but holy cow, that will be a good defensive team

If I had to create KY's roster for 21 million (just for the fun of it) -

Jasper - 3mil
Moreno - 1.5mil
Haggerty - 4.5mil
Yaxel - 4.5mil
Oweh - 4mil
3mil is more than enough to for 3 1mil bench guys.

I am a play 10 rotation guy. I like the idea of wearing teams down by rotating players especially in the NC games. Look at last year with the illnesses and injuries. We only had 10 players to use and we wore down playing 7 and having to use Booth. If we get AS and either Boogie or Claude, we will have 11 rotation pieces if we count one of the Fr (Lee). I hope Brad will use a deeper bench, not have guys averaging over 30 minutes a game but to win by being able to play tighter D. Our athletic gains will allow us to play a pseudo press, take seconds away from the opposition’s time to set up. Plus if we get illnesses or injury, we will have a more ready player to step up.

Just out of curiosity for the insiders, if we did add another huge splash on top of Andrej, any sense on how guys like Rodgers and Davis feel about that? I know at the end of the day we are building the best team possible, so it is what it is, but just curious. Portal is obviously closed but you would hope chemistry doesn't get compromised.

From my vantage point, though, both of those guys seem as high-character as possible, and I think live with it.

IF Boogie or Claude are options...

I know I may be in the minority, but I would be more inclined to go for Boogie...

That dude has an...Elite...first step...like, zoom he is by you. Him and Petrovic would be 2 of the fastest guards in the Big 10. And we know with our bigs being able to shoot...the middle of the floor will be wide, wide, wide open.

Boogie was pretty bad percentage wise from the floor...Boogie wasn't a great 3 point shooter. But the kid gets down hill as fast as anyone as I've seen and he is only going to get better. He can pass as well, and this is no knock on Claude, but if your looking for a ceiling guy...I would take my chance with Boogie.
I agree - Boogie is the more talented/higher upside of the two of them, I do question fit a little bit having three 6-2" PG's on the team,
but I know I've always been curious what would have happened if Fears did come here last year and it would have been a similar situation

And at of the day, Curbelo, Plummer, Frazier worked out fairly well IMO. But only Curbelo was a PG.

I do think Boogie has the ability to play off Bos as a combo.

Either would be a phenomenal portal gain and big win for Brad but if there was a choice, I’d pick Boogie. He had to grind through the tough SEC last year. He’s competed against the best and saw the athleticism/competitiveness/consistency it takes to win at the top. That means as much or more than comparing their stats, imo.

Yah it would have been terrible to have 3 -1st rd draft picks...

Think Ty is gonna play a ton of 4. Think most valuable in the 6th man utility role but wouldn't be shocked either if he's starting at the 4 at least initially

Really hard to know how the line-up(s) will eventually solidify, but having someone with Ty's defensive toughness and versatility should have a useful role. He was pretty scrappy offensively for a guy who wasn't a 3pt threat.
