An insider on another board of an ACC team who was trying to get into the Andrej sweepstakes said its official. Illinois has got him.

I’ll say this, for all the consternation, it does sound like the staff got the top guy they wanted.

Gotta hope for some good euro translations, but the floor for this team is way higher than last year.

Agree - I think the comp of Braden Smith is a good one - unsure of the competition level in Petrovic video.

Petrovic plays in the same league that Mirkovic currently plays in (ABA Liga) and that Tomi & Zvonimir played in

And he is an MVP candidate in said league

He definitely is not coming here for 3 minute spurts... he is GOOD

Not only has BU embraced the NIL era with $trong booster support....but evidently he has found learning the nuances of the Slavic languages quite easy. His first step hiring paid players got us Mayer and TSJr. which worked out well over two seasons in spite of some disappointment. The next step got us a full roster of talent albeit very young and inexperienced.

Now, we have a roster of older, experienced guys, once again with size and talent....but with somewhat of a language barrier...and possible eligibility issue for Petrovic.

Not many coaches would take on such problems year after year...but maybe he had no choice or he made a better one. Regardless, there is still the huge problem of fitting the pieces together once again. As has been pointed out by another poster, on paper it appears there has been no improvement in shooting beyond the arc. We will soon learn if that is so...or if he has another scheme up his sleeve.

And I dearly hope Ty has used the past year to improve his shooting. Yet, if all the weaknesses have been worked upon and the normal step up is present, this team has a very high ceiling. And I am not sure that adding another shiny piece will add anything...but who knows?
