100% agree. I believe in the 2nd year bump for these experienced transfers.View attachment 41852
Going against the grain here, but I think it’s good for continuity—as long as Brad doesn’t hand him a featured role.
High character individual and the guy deserves a shot at redemption.
NC in this case means Non Conference Games. Two years ago, all 4 FF teams played 9-10 guys double digit minutes which included SDSU, FAU, UConn and Miami.I'm the opposite (as are most coaches). You want your best players on the court as much as possible and you want them accustomed to being on the floor together. Speaking of NC games, a year ago, UConn's starting 5 played almost the entire game.
Depth is important because you might have injuries. But absent that, most coaches tighten the rotation to 6, maybe 7 guys, come tournament time.
What's the date on that quote again?"Humrichous is a guy we've worked really, really hard throughout this process," Underwood said. "Very excited about his package, what he brings to us. He's extremely versatile. I think he's one of the elite shooters in the country. I think the versatility, he can do everything from play the five to be able to do some of the things that we did with Marcus [Domask] in post-ups."

Illinois' Brad Underwood Calls Transfer Ben Humrichous One Of The Best Shooters In The Country
Illinois coach Brad Underwood recently made his first comments on Evansville transfer Ben Humrichous. He gave his thoughts while speaking to reporters Monday.www.si.com
Oregon, everything worked that game.I don't think it was this dunk but does anyone remember what game he had the 1 handed hammer that seemingly came out of nowhere
Like "I didn't know you could do that"
Will this comparison ever die?
Brad played Humrichous as a 3pt specialist. 75% of all his attempts were from 3.
That wasn't Domask at all. Domask did a lot of other stuff on offense. Thankfully. Because he was a weak 3pt shooter. Just 30% on the season. He was just 6th on the teams in 3pt attempts per 40 minutes. About half the rate of 3pt shots as BH.
They were completely different players on completely different tea
So for all intents and purposes it sounds like Ben hasn't made up his mind on what he wants to do. To me that is concerning... do we really want a kid who would rather go into a cubicle and make an entry level wage for $60K a year then play basketball for a $250K a year. If he's not committed we really have to move on."Humrichous is a guy we've worked really, really hard throughout this process," Underwood said. "Very excited about his package, what he brings to us. The article is from May of last year. Nothing to do with this year.So for all intents and purposes it sounds like Ben hasn't made up his mind on what he wants to do. To me that is concerning... do we really want a kid who would rather go into a cubicle and make an entry level wage for $60K a year then play basketball for a $250K a year. If he's not committed we really have to let him go.
