Moving on to the last piece to be an even better team- I know we discussed Bland/Claude/Euro

But if we’re raising money for another big ticket transfer which will be in the $3M range I wonder if PJ Haggerty starts to come into that range- he doesn’t seem to be getting takers on his $4M and “I’m the PG”demands and he would be the best player available by far in my mind- one of the best guards in the country last year 21ppg, 36% from three, rebounds - active defender, he turns the ball over too much but hey, he’d fit right in!

He would be the Home Run, start booking final four tickets type get and after Andrej becomes official maybe donors get excited enough to make it happen
Not happening.

My one hope is that Andrej doesn't care much about money since he has plenty and this isn't one of those situations where his agent texts the 2-3 other options he'd be open to and asks for their final number before inking with Illinois.

It's because they are not absolutely sure yet. Look what happened to us a couple of years ago with the verbal commit we had who ended up signing with Baylor.

He sounds like a headache... no thank you.

I think the roster looks great if Stojakovic comes through... with two PGs to guard against injuries... if we have some late blockbuster addition a la Will Riley, super, but we can't collect them all.

Patience…doesn’t happen like that….If he starts scheduling other visits than I would start speculating but even than I wouldn’t worry about it too much…just look at the Ian Jackson recruitment.

Again, I'd prefer the Illini to add Jamir Watkins as a transfer vs. PJ Haggerty. Less drama. Less demands. And I think that Watkins would work beautifully alongside Stojakovic in the Illinois starting lineup next season.
