An all-timer episode, and I believe the source of the now ubiquitous "saying the quiet part loud" bit?Camus can do but Sartre is smartra.
I mean that staff was habitually receiving wrong information, or misinterpreting the information they were receiving. The staff being certain they had the player sewn up was objectively not that conclusive of information. (We hadn't learned that quite yet when DJax happened of course)
BU and staff getting similarly deceived is not totally unprecedented (and clearly has happened here to some degree, even if it has a happy ending), but it's way, way less common.
And even all of THAT said, real over-the-table money, professional agents, and these kids being transfers who have gone through this process before just makes it apples to oranges to compare it to HS recruitments of the old world. It produces similar feelings because we're still Illini fans on this same message board, but the mechanics of it are just not similar.

It’s a lock
Any idea what this is referring to?
Did someone turn his asking price down? Did his people turn down a low-ball offer? What does it all mean?

This is more prevalent when recruiting foreign players.I don’t think anyone was deceived. I think they give media types information to create buzz. Some of that information is lost in translation and / or manipulated to get clicks.
did he come back home to visit family? Peoria is much colder than Arizona.
I wonder if that was us?did he come back home to visit family? Peoria is much colder than Arizona.
If I had to randomly guess, I'd say he was ready to commit to someone and the offer was taken away. I still don't know why he's eligible to play in the first place. He's already played 4 full seasons. This 23+ year old college player thing has to stop.

His freshman season was 20-21, the free year that doesn't count for eligibility, so he has one year remaining.did he come back home to visit family? Peoria is much colder than Arizona.

Can’t say. Can say that I haven’t watched the Simpsons in more than 20 years because it got unwatchable in the ‘90s - but those old episodes hold up very well. Conversely, South Park newer seasons keep getting better. And that’s all I have to say about that.An all-timer episode, and I believe the source of the now ubiquitous "saying the quiet part loud" bit?
The Twitter replies are all Illini fans begging him to come back.
