Illinois should put a full-court press on Jamir Watkins. Undy and OA: work some magic and get it done!TBH, I am more excited about Jamir Watkins, overall, but not sure where he places in the draft!
"Whatever happens will be" All I Want
I hope people realize that "smart resource allocation" offers no solace to most fans. We want to win. Like, win big. Like national title big. While you might get there with some sort of "smart resource allocation" you're more likely to get there by over paying for the talent that you identify that will win titles for you.Just because we assessed a player's worth lower than they ended up didn't mean we weren't capable of spending on that player. We just pivoted to a similar player for the price we wanted to pay. I wouldn't call that outbid. I call that smart resource allocation.
In other words, as a portal recruit, he was recruited through the recruiting process.well it's real simple. I don't care how optimistic you are, I don't care what you heard. The fact that he visited and a week later he still hasn't committed can be viewed as nothing but a negative. Clearly he didn't think our offer was enough and he's out looking for more. We may end up landing him, but my guess would be we had to up our original bid to do it.
Specifically, at this point in time, if we miss on Stojakovic for whatever reason, please "name a similar player for the price" who's left in the portal, or who's hidden in Europe, that Illinois could sign for the coming season. And at a "price we wanted to pay."Just because we assessed a player's worth lower than they ended up didn't mean we weren't capable of spending on that player. I don't know what this means? I was referring to how everyday we got told stop worrying he's committed. That seems more and more challenging to believe as each day passes. We all know how the recruiting process works, but this has shades of Demetrius Jackson written on it.In other words, as a portal recruit, he was recruited through the recruiting process.
I prefer the staff operate like ninjas so nobody else gets wind of a guy until we have him what passes for locked up this offseason.Specifically, at this point in time, if we miss on Stojakovic for whatever reason, please "name a similar player for the price" who's left in the portal, or who's hidden in Europe, that Illinois could sign for the coming season. Hurtful but truthful - all the talk about Yaxel going NBA... if he's (allegedly) getting 4mil, he'd need to be in the top 15 range to match if he leaves. Who knows, but can certainly make a whole lot coming back. Certainly a big time pickup for Michigan if it does come to fruition.
brads in big trouble if he cant land a 1A type of player
Won't play a second for Michigan. NBA bound

If the final decision has been made privately, and he hasn't even visited UNC, why would he choose UNC??? Agree there's probably a "small chance" , but from a practical sense, not nearly enough to crack the "we've lost him" deal imo.Final decision has been made privately from what I heard. Graphic could be released at any time, not even going to guess a timeline at this point. Shouldn't go past Tuesday worse case is what I will say. Pretty confident it's us.
Small chance he picks UNC, but we have way more things working in our favor right now.
This is a much more practical question. Either we get him or we don't, BUT .... don't know how much we were planning on the "Stoj, plus another quality piece" deal, but if we were, is that now off the table? How much did UNC's late push bump his price even more?
Not anymore! Due to A.I. it's closer to 76% now73% of all statistics are made up.
Then what is even the point of ever calling anything "a lock?"NO. Things can always unlock. Ridiculous statement.

Or he's a thoughtful, analytical person that takes his time with important decisions, because from his perspective there is no terrible hurry as long as he has enough time to get settled and join a team for summer workouts.well it's real simple. Apparently someone on the UNC board had AI make a song about Andres commitment
It’s stuck in my head already
And locks can literally be changed...NO. Things can always unlock. Ridiculous statement.
