Did you have a scout on Petrovic and Mirkovic? I also couldn't name KJ when we lost AJ Storr.Specifically, at this point in time, if we miss on Stojakovic for whatever reason, please "name a similar player for the price" who's left in the portal, or who's hidden in Europe, that Illinois could sign for the coming season. And at a "price we wanted to pay."
My experience is different. Last year we filled the spots with high quality guys after falling pretty short of expectations in the portal. But those two late adds were young and that was part of our problem this past season.Experience tells me that the staff will get the piece we need regardless of the list we currently think is Plan C.
Sales tactics?!

Ok, its really catchy lol. Dang it. I was hoping it wouldn't be lolApparently someone on the UNC board had AI make a song about Andres commitment
It’s stuck in my head already
I like the two freshmen, Kimble and Chaikin, but I don't think we should "recruit over" our two incoming freshmen, Jason Lee and Keaton Wagler. The sophomore Brown looks to have potential, but the Illini probably need more mature players (get older!) this upcoming season.

FWIW if we ended up with boogie + one more solid piece I would be just as (if not more) satisfied with us getting Andrej. I’ve been very optimistic about Andrej but I like the idea of getting boogie as wellOf course, there's Freshman BOOGIE FLAND (Arkansas)! He was a 5-star prospect in HS, the #1 rated PG in the Clas of 2024. He could start as a Combo Guard for Illinois next season. I think he could really lift the Illini team to greatness.
I don’t post often, but read daily. Why cant a young kid just wait and reflect on decisions? Isn’t that what we teach as parents? Not to make quick decisions. He may commit here, (I think he does) or he may not. It’s his future my man.Well clearly we were never nor are we now any kind of lock. It just seems like he must not be sure? I really can’t believe money (say 250k either way) would make any difference as he is set for life long before he ever got paid for playing basketball?
I only recently realized but the “Fla” you speak of I assume you mean is FI_8905 which is capital F and capital I as in fighting Illini 1989 and 2005I don’t post often, but read daily. I’m not picking you out specifically, your post just inspired me to post.
We have to make some talk in the mid term, but the way some of y’all act is borderline mid school-ish. Let a young man decide. The staff has done what they can do. Sit back and watch. There’s a reason why (most) all of us are sitting on the sidelines, better yet, C section.
You all sit here on the edge of your seats waiting for Lville, Indy, 0440, DB, Fla, and others can’t think of right now. (Love ya Pru) and then **** on them the moment something doesn’t work out. They’re doing god work out here.

I know a lot of folks feel this way and he didn’t have a good game against us, which personally clouded my view of him, but since the insiders brought his name up as having some mutual interest (and he seems like a mid second rounder right now so a real chance he comes back), I did a little more research into him. Having too many quick ball handlers, elite passers, excellent 3pt shooters, disruptive defenders and guys that can go get a bucket, is a good problem to have. In the regular season before he got hurt he was playing great/ he’s so good at basketball he would fit anywhere- this is what he did in 21 games before being hurtBoogie is not a good fit. We've already got two quality point guards. AS is the piece that would put us over the top. Need more size at the three.
Under normal circumstances what you are saying makes perfect sense. Waiting around during the transfer portal season though can be disastrous.I don’t post often, but read daily. They'll still get the money they ask for, under the table. The portal process MUST be fixed and there needs to be limits placed on NIL money available to all teams.
