It happens. It stinks that it has to be on the social media the players themselves are reading, having it among us message board dorks is better isolated. But it's part of the gig. There are benefits too, and of course now the financial rewards they've always deserved.

Evansville transfer started 26 games for Illinois but lost his starting spot late in the season.

I certainly hope that is not the case. I EXPECT BH to make a plus contribution to this coming season that all fans will respect. Success breeds success and I hope he has it and gains the confidence to expect every shot he puts up to end up in the net. As for his defense, now that he knows what to expect from elite teams, his "want to" will determine his success on that end. And his rebounding was OK in the last couple of months. He fits a role perfectly, and I hope he gets the chance and delivers....and all Illini fans can express their appreciation of his efforts.

Dog eat dog. Redemption is all that matters at this point. He will either be what most of us think he is OR what most of us want him to be.
Not do what? If he's here to be the 9th man, great, but it's a bit sus that he'd want to come back unless there were some greater assurance about role.

Like I said yesterday, I don't think we are done for this year. I think we end up with a junk yard dog SG with positional size and athleticism. The type that Houston seems to recruit year after year.
I actually think Tre White as a SG or Wing would fit that role....oh well.
