their season hasn't ended yet. The league MVP for the season hasn't been handed out yet. i've heard on multiple places he's a cadidate for their season MVP award.
Former Murray state guard Bryce Jones is favorite to win it. Its just accumulated PIR award.

He will find a seat and probably make quite a bit of money, but it will be on yet another 13-20 type team. HIs chance to make big bucks AND be on a really good team has likely passed.
No reason to feel sorry for him. He will make a very nice salary for another 5th (or 6th?) year of college ball.

For arguments sake, let's say Riley completely bombs at the combine. I mean, he totally melts down and goes from top 20 to maybe top 40. Let's take it a step further and say he wants to remove him name from the draft.

Who's going to come up with that money to bring him back? Are they going to go to the donors and ask them to lock in a few additional million?

Equally as important, who do you tell to transfer at his position? Do you tell Andrej to keep looking? Do you tell Ty thanks, but no thanks and the rest of the roster that you brought in from overseas, whose goal is to go to the NBA.....that their minutes got cut in half?

Everyone's hands are tied here. Brad couldn't wait on this decision and I don't blame him. You have to move on as if he wasn't coming back and all involved have to understand that.
This is all moot since he's almost definitely staying in the draft but to answer your questions, from what I understand the money for Will was set aside for him and him only should he decide for whatever reason to come back. What's interesting is that since he didn't also add his name to the portal, and I'm positive we would do right by him anyway, is that he wouldn't be able to transfer and play anywhere else (unless he challenged the portal rules in court) so theoretically being his only option we wouldn't even have to pay him his market value. At the very least it wouldn't set off a bidding war.

You tell the entire roster that the offense is going to flow through Will and Andrej and support them in whatever decisions they make.

Fears decommitted on July 1st. About a week after Will committed. And more than a month after KJ committed. There was talk from insiders at the time about the staff not wanting Fears to reclassify. No one on the staff is going to say that publicly.

I'm not so sure and that is the point

I have nothing to prove, he made the original assertion, I didn't... he can either prove it or not

He is saying we had a schollie open and told a 4 star recruit no (and nobody can prove this either way so what is the argument about?)
Yoga sounds fun.

Can anyone help me with pronunciation of his first name?

Is the J silent (it's usually Bob that's silent, not Jay), and it's just like Andre, is it Andre with a whisper of a j at the end? Other?

If you get a chance, go to You Tube and look up "24-25 Transfer Portal Highlights" for 6'5" 205-pound Sr. Guard Ali Dibba from SIU. Those video highlights look pretty good. He would seem to fit the bill for the taller combo guard/wing that the Illini might need to finish out their roster for the upcoming season. I can envision Dibba playing well in our five-out offense and getting into the passing lane for steals in our man-to-man defense. He's not a superstar, but he's experienced and has talent. I have no idea how many dollars it would take to get his transfer to Illinois. (I understand that we are somewhat tapped out on funds, perhaps having "only" $200,000 [maybe $300,000] left.) But I think that Dibba would be worth checking on. Of course, the staff may be hesitant to add anyone at this point, at least until Will Riley makes his final decision on the Draft.

Dibba's stats from last season... 17.2/4.8/2.0 and 49.0/33.7/66.0 ... are nothing to sneeze at. He's athletic, but not as athletic as 6'6" 215-pound Soph Guard Kennard Davis Jr. of SIU, who is transferring to BYU. So, hopefully Dibba's asking price would be a lot less than that of K Davis, and Dibba would be more accepting of his role on the 24-25 Illini team.

Insiders on here relayed that we didn’t tell him “no” but wanted him to come second semester and redshirt make some NIL and work with Fletch then start next year. He didn’t want to do that, then when we did take Will Riley as a reclass freshman that upset the Fears camp. I doubt we ever told him “no”, we always had an scholarship for him and tried to make the reclass work by having him redshirt but obviously he wanted to play right away and good for him. He bet on himself and won big time. And we made the right decision based on our roster at the time, but I doubt wish it could have worked here - would have been fun to watch

BTW, please feel free to also take a look on You Tube for the "24-25 Transfer Portal Highlights" for 6'4" 184-pound Jr. Guard TK Simpkins from Elon. He looks to me like another possible fit for that last Wing/SG spot on the Illini 25-26 roster. Again, I have no idea what his asking price might be. I also don't think he played against the level of competition for Elon that Dibba played against for SIU. Simpkins averaged 16.4/3.1/2.6 on 42.3/36.7/75.6 shooting this past season for Elon.
