I would kick at minimum Hamer off the team. Little defensive guys on this team and bad defensive coach not the best combo.1. Illinois has the NIL support. Very obvious at this point. We need to stop arguing the contrary - It's not true, and was never true.
2. Who would I kick off the team? No one.
Starters:
Bos
Petrovic
Will
Stoj
Tomi
(none of these guys are leaving)
Ty, Mirk, Z can be first off the bench and then Ben and Jake. None of these guys were established "no doubt starters" to begin with and if that's what they thought coming here, then they were wrong. And hell, if one of them wants to go, so be it. Will Riley if he comes back is a potential B10 POY candidate. Don't know what the reason would be to turn him down. And overall, that team would have a shot at being the top team in the country imo talent wise.
It's due to ignorant arguments like these Illinois hasn't reached the top of the top of college basketball, and may never will. It's always "I won't take this player, because it will take the minutes of this player" rather than looking at the quality aspect and aiming to build the best team you can. It's just simply not how you become a national contender.
I wonder if @Indy Illini Fan would agree with this assessment...I would kick at minimum Hamer off the team. Little defensive guys on this team and bad defensive coach not the best combo.
That's a big deal if so because while he's been pretty consistently on the draft board, I'd say the majority have him second half of first round or later.I was told by someone who knows Will's Mom that it is still a possibility if he was expected to go pick #21 or lower. I have no idea if thist is true or not.
No,just noI think we should offer Adam one last time. Take it or leave it.

2nd half of first round is great. If that's guaranteed, he should stay in the draft. That's a big deal if so because while he's been pretty consistently on the draft board, I'd say the majority have him second half of first round or later.
I think it’s an easy answer. They find the money. Adding will helps everyone else out. The more dangerous pieces on the court at once the less the other team can implore help defense or hard hedges. We would have 25 min starters and 15 -min bench players. Whoever’s playing best at that game is end to finish the game. It’s what we were suppose to be last year. True depth. Thats a winning formula. For arguments sake, let's say Riley completely bombs at the combine. I mean, he totally melts down and goes from top 20 to maybe top 40. Let's take it a step further and say he wants to remove him name from the draft.
Who's going to come up with that money to bring him back? Are they going to go to the donors and ask them to lock in a few additional million?
Equally as important, who do you tell to transfer at his position? Do you tell Andrej to keep looking? Do you tell Ty thanks, but no thanks and the rest of the roster that you brought in from overseas, whose goal is to go to the NBA.....that their minutes got cut in half?
Everyone's hands are tied here. Brad couldn't wait on this decision and I don't blame him. You have to move on as if he wasn't coming back and all involved have to understand that.
I'm an SIU grad, so I watch about every Saluki game. Dibba had a tendency to disappear for stretches, then take over. One game, from the beginning of the second half, he scored Southern's first like 15 points as they took the lead.If you get a chance, go to You Tube and look up "24-25 Transfer Portal Highlights" for 6'5" 205-pound Sr. Guard Ali Dibba from SIU. Those video highlights look pretty good. He would seem to fit the bill for the taller combo guard/wing that the Illini might need to finish out their roster for the upcoming season. I can envision Dibba playing well in our five-out offense and getting into the passing lane for steals in our man-to-man defense. He's not a superstar, but he's experienced and has talent. I have no idea how many dollars it would take to get his transfer to Illinois. (I understand that we are somewhat tapped out on funds, perhaps having "only" $200,000 [maybe $300,000] left.) But I think that Dibba would be worth checking on. Of course, the staff may be hesitant to add anyone at this point, at least until Will Riley makes his final decision on the Draft.
Dibba's stats from last season... 17.2/4.8/2.0 and 49.0/33.7/66.0 ... are nothing to sneeze at. He's athletic, but not as athletic as 6'6" 215-pound Soph Guard Kennard Davis Jr. of SIU, who is transferring to BYU. So, hopefully Dibba's asking price would be a lot less than that of K Davis, and Dibba would be more accepting of his role on the 24-25 Illini team.
I agree yet she thinks pick 21+ isn't worth it. But hey, her thinking that benefits us.2nd half of first round is great. If that's guaranteed, he should stay in the draft.
Probably should of chosen better representationCould be completely wrong, but my guess is Gonzaga is less money than Baylor for Adam, but Baylor ended their recruitment when he was playing hard to get and that's when he tweeted one of his classic cryptic crybaby tweets.
If he opts out and doesn’t come back to Illinois, where’s he gonna go? He never entered the portal.I would say that the chances of Will Riley opting out of the draft are at best 1%.
If he does, the odds of coming back here are less than 1% of that 1%.
Where do the minutes come from?
Also, in the draft posted above, please not the T'wolves. Don't want TJ and Will competing for minutes.
Please! Duke, Kentucky, et al have no problem with finding minutes for all their top-rated players (and they have way more than we do). We have all the minutes Will is able to play.I would say that the chances of Will Riley opting out of the draft are at best 1%.
If he does, the odds of coming back here are less than 1% of that 1%.

His minutes comes wherever he wants...our recruits have unfortunately earned zero...so far...I would say that the chances of Will Riley opting out of the draft are at best 1%.

Sure, but did they make first team ASUN?Deron Williams last year at Illinois 12.6/6.8
Dee Brown last year at Illinois 14.2/5.8
seems like pretty good company w/14.3/7.3
Are you insane? He gets 30 minutes a game if he comes back. Petrovic, Ty, Mirkovic and Ben probably lose minutes if Riley comes back. Petrovic and especially Mirkovic haven't even touched a NCAA basketball court and some of you are thinking they are going to be playing 30 minutes a game lol.I would say that the chances of Will Riley opting out of the draft are at best 1%.
If he does, the odds of coming back here are less than 1% of that 1%.

Unlikely he comes back. But if he wants back and we turns him down, what happens? The universe explodes? They played a lot this year with Will at the 3 and Tre at the 4. Think you could do the same with Will and Stoj. Just gives you the ability to have your best five out there.
As far as the bolded, I think a lot will depend on the combine, especially those "guarantees." We'll shall see... obviously it's more unlikely than likely he comes back, but worth the watch.
For Riley?? You're serious.I would say that the chances of Will Riley opting out of the draft are at best 1%.

All-Americans? Not a chance.Sure, but did they make first team ASUN?
Honestly would be my lone concern. Even if he doesn't come back would still my lone concern. We'll always have the talent. And offensively Brad's always proven to adapt.I would kick at minimum Hamer off the team. Little defensive guys on this team and bad defensive coach not the best combo.
Offseason propganda.For Riley?? You're serious.
Plus (as stated above) he did not enter the transfer portal.
Sorry, but the level of idiocy displayed here from time to time is just... laughable.
I think the question was who loses minutes, not does Riley get minutes. For Riley?? You're serious.
