Really feel people are sleeping on Lee. Wagler has some nice long term upside as well, he can really shoot it.
It is baffling to me how little regard this board has shown for Keaton Wagler. He was the Player of the Year for Kansas and led his team to the state title. He did not play in Colby or Claflin, but in the city at Shawnee Mission Northwest. \

He is now rated at #25 which is borderline 5 star. For a high school recruit, that puts him in the top 10 % of Illini recruits at least. He is also exactly the type of athlete and skill set that is hard to find. My hope is that he is accepted and encouraged by Illini fans when he hits the floor as well as on this board. Kids like that are hard to find and keep...but if they stay for 4 years, they have a great shot at becoming an Illini legend.

He's #1 in the composite. Dybantsa's composite rating is 0.9999, which is the 2nd best possible composite score. The next best player is 0.9995.

247's own ratings have 2 others tied with him at 100, which is their max score.

These ratings are what you'd expect for a "generationally good" player. Of course not every player who gets these ratings actually turns out to be "generationally good."
If his composite score is higher and the highest possible why isn't he ranked #1? Seems silly to not have that as tie breaker if they have same rating on 24/7.... Regardless thanks for the details

Obviously because he chose BYU instead of the "blueblood" Kansas...

Wait AJ dybantsa isn't number 1? I thought he was generationally good. I thought people even thought he was better than Flagg? Am I wrong?
Easy for me to say this after the fact but…when I’ve watched him I’ve been impressed but not #1 player in the country impressed. I think he’s mostly just bigger and stronger than his comp.

He is ranked number one...in the composite. Why is this a tough concept?

Don't know why its not the tiebreaker for 247's own rankings. Don't know why it matters. It's obvious that 100=100. They should just list all ties as the same ranking (so three guys ranked #1, then next guy would be #4), but that probably doesn't look as nice. In any event, I've kind of always thought the whole point of 247 is the composite anyway so those are the rankings that matter, to the extent any of these matter.

Which website are you seeing him at #25? I haven't seen anything near that, but maybe I'm missing something?

Not sure where you’re getting this from, but Keaton Wagler is not ranked anywhere close to #25.
247: 142 4 star
On3: 227 3 star
Rivals: NR 3 star
ESPN: NR 3 star

Where are you getting #25? I've never seen him near the the top 100.

That said, I like what I've seen of him. He'll probably need some time to adjust to this level of play, but I think he could eventually be really good. Hopefully he stays with us a few years.

I am not. I saw highlights and have mentioned him being good in several posts. I think he's going to surprise and perform better than what we expected.

This board and Illini nation have given him his flowers, but he is not highly ranked by any recruiting services, not sure where you’re getting your information from.

I think that you're off by roughly 100 slots, but your enthusiasm projecting legendary status is impressive!
