now there’s a name i haven’t heard in awhile.. don’t know the full story but assume that handlers/bad advice ruined the kids life
Well after his time at Donda Academy (lol) he went to the same school as Mikey Williams, and I guess was living at his house when Williams shot at an occupied car in his driveway and was arrested. He and Mikey did one year at Memphis where JJ barely played at all and Mikey did not play a single minute due to his ongoing legal problems, then both transferred to UCF.

Idk if Mikey Williams is the answer to "what the heck happened to JJ Taylor" but I do have a bit of a bias against people who shoot guns at other people so, idk, this'll be the first time JJ is on a different team than Mikey in a while and that might be a good thing.

JJ Taylor to NIU… What a ride that has been

Actually bums me out. Everyone could see the Donda Academy thing being a disaster from a mile away, and yet a lot of talented kids went there.

Rob Dillingham was really the only one to find footing. JJ Taylor, Chuck Bailey, Mikey Williams. AJ Johnson made the league, but never got to college. Truly sad.

In Underwood's 35-minute press conference a few days ago (finally watching it), he said there's one more freshman he hasn't announced yet at 6:30 in the video, unless I misinterpreted what he's saying.

Unless I’m misunderstanding what come about with staff updates, this is exactly what we did, no?

(again maybe I’m not following, 1st cup of coffee here lol)
My first cup of coffee on this thread in awhile, so that’s good to hear. That said, I’m usually of the opinion that I’ll believe when I see it. If that’s how things go in season, awesome. The fact it took two full seasons to realize this needed to happen (if it indeed happens) is less than awesome. Far, far too long for a program of this level.

Go HARD after Monsanto. You can never have too many shooters on your roster, and if we are determined to shoot 35+ threes a game again you have to have 4 or 5 guys who can make them at a good clip. When Monsanto shoots it might go in. He would fill a big, big need.
does not have eligibility. needs a waiver, no certainty that's even an option on the table.

Hes played 5 seasons, so I don't believe he would be eligible. He would need to get an injury waiver for 23-24(11 games)but he was playing games in February so that generally gets denied if guys are playing in the 2nd half of the season.

If Rodgers is out for the year then they really need a wing/guard that can play defense. Need another guy that can probably at least guard 2-4.

The current roster without Rodgers will really struggle with athletic wings and 4s imo.

Guards: Petrovic, Boswell, and maybe Lee is ready to contribute.

Wings: Stojakovic(better athlete and defender than we are probably giving him credit for but he's more of a combo guard than a guy that is guarding 4's, also will need him offensively), Humrichous(Good size but lacks lower body strength and foot speed), and Jake Davis(tries but physically limited and not overly big/long).

Bigs: Mirkovic( big bodied 4 but I'm worried about his foot speed defensively on the perimeter), Zvonimir(fluid 7 footer and length can cover up but not really a guy you want to stick on perimeter players), Tomi(7 foot center but lacks foot speed on the perimeter).

I think that's a pretty obvious top 9 for the current roster without Ty but it's pretty lacking on perimeter defense imo. Going to be absolutely abused by teams with big athletic wings.

If they draw someone like BYU who would guard someone like Dybansta?

Not sure if we're even in play to add anyone at this point, but if we do it'll have to be a wing guy that's a capable contributor. Monsanto sounds fine if he has eligibility.

I don't think the team as built is deep enough, unless we're expecting big contributions from our freshmen.
