In the world of podcasts banter is pretty commonly what people are looking for. I listen to a podcast that's just 3 dudes who made a cable TV show together over a decade ago, bantering about random nonsense ("This is Important").
I think the 247 sight works well with the podcast, in both credibility, shared research/background knowledge, & one promotes the other.
Me too... we talk about all the analytics of 3 pt shooting; but we forget about the value of shots at the rim, there were so many times in recent years when all we needed to do was score a bucket to break an opponents scoring run or just be able to make a couple baskets to avoid a collapse vs missing 5 threes in a row. A beast in the paint is very underrated (IMO), that can protect the rim, rebound, & can get you a bucket when you need one. Being able to rip the rim off the bank board is just an added bonus.
Man, that's sad about Piper. Anyone who's been around this scene for long enough will remember he was basically a high school kid covering recruiting events and finally starting getting spot media hits with Jeremy and others. He had his own site and everything and it was getting sourced for news. Guy worked incredibly hard and has started a family and a great career for it. A real success story, and I hope he's been able to do what's best for his family.
Is the Tay and Piper radio show going to continue without Piper locally in Champaign area? I have been tuning in locally lately and it is just ESPN radio...not Tay (much less Piper) or any local show.

The show is being revamped. Tay is taking a break. Revamped show returns August 18th.

It’ll be re-tooled as the “Lon Tay Smiletime Variety Hour.” Weekly guest co-hosts include Pedro Pascal, Olivia Rodrigo, Up With People and Elmo. It’ll be part Around the Horn, part Deal or No Deal and part The Carol Burnett Show. Lon is working on his Tarzan yell as we speak.
none of those schools has a kofi as their sell. i'd imagine pretty influential.
They said it would start back in August but I think when Lon realized that Kyle was going to be gone Tuesdays/Thursdays, and Lon always misses shows, I’d just be surprised if it ever came back. They could rehire Mike Carpenter but I think Stevie thinks Carp is too negative which is why they got rid of him before. And Carp isn’t an insider. Stevie said on their last show that he wanted a format where Lon was the entertainer, and the cohost brought the insider content. Similar to Steve Kelly/Loren Tate, Tay/Werner, and Tay/Piper. But I don’t see any Piper replacement out there that fills that role other than Jeremy. And I doubt Jeremy has time to do the radio show along with his podcasts and other stuff
100%. The sell would be before and after photos of Kofi working with Fletch and then designing the offense around Kofi as developed into an all American.
Though Kofi didn't even really sniff the NBA so maybe it's not a great sell.

I thought I read that Piper was still going to be in the CU area with his new gig.
That's what he wrote. Basically, he's taking a job outside of sports media so he can spend more time with his family. The years in which your kids are small and at home go by very fast, and you can't get them back. Good for him, and good for them.
He looks like the next Kofi
Illinois is pushing on adding one more piece for this season.
