Sure. But the original post was implying we had a better shot at a recruit because of Hubert Davis being awful. But despite that he's still pulling top classes
North Carolina GIF by UNC Tar Heels

It’s tough to tarnish that brand that can also claim MJ!

UNC will fire Hubert Davis after next season
Porter Moser has done nothing at OK
Texas is a football school with coach on thin ice
Gonzaga is back to mid major status since assistant Tommy Loyd moved to AZ as HC

AZ is the danger but its 120 degrees there today so???
The zags have made 3 sweet sixteen and 1 elite eight in the 4 years that Lloyd has been gone. I'll take those results.

He's too expensive is my guess, need back-up plans if he goes for money.
If Holmes or Costanza are willing to be reasonable on price, we should go there. But if not, I wouldn't be unhappy if we turned our emphasis to the transfer portal instead. Get old and stay old is a really good philosophy that seems to work.

Illinois would need to hit a grand slam on the visit to jump to the top of the list for Cameron Holmes. It's obviously a good thing that he's visiting.

Much better shot at Lucas Morillo. Still in the top group with Constanza, but money is becoming more of a factor, so....

Petrovic is likely back for a 2nd season, so they will take Morillo as long as he's fine with that.

Give me a 5 star one and one every year to blend with our veterans and our older European imports

For those still itching for ex-Saluki Ali Dibba to join this year's roster, he just received his waiver from the NCAA.

Saluki insiders suggest he may have lacked positive energy and good bb IQ last year, and that he might be heading to DePaul.
I still say that Illinois could do a lot worse than adding Ali Dibba to the roster. I think he could add some positive energy under the tutelage of BU and staff. And I don't think he'd need a lot more basketball IQ to be effective in the Illinois offense and defense. IF Wagler and Lee are better than advertised (and that's a BIG if), then I think there's less of a need to add Dibba. (Are you willing to gamble on that?) But I'd still feel a lot better about our guard/wing depth with Dibba on the roster.

Dibba's going to aTm.
