Stojakovic stays? I like that. I transparently may be way too high on him. I thought he may have a chance to get drafted.
He sometimes appears in the second round of some draft boards.

Most guys don't leave without exhausting eligibility without a first round guarantee. The college players drafted are overwhelmingly either freshmen or seniors. Last year just two first round picks were juniors: 27 and 30.

All in all, I don't think there's any NBA draft threat.

I would think a GM would have more interest in watching him fill a role vs being THE GUY. Curious to see how he progresses with that. I am sure it is quite the ego-check for him, but by all accounts (and his previous school choices), he is a really smart kid and will figure it out.

Just re stating what the staff is hearing … And what their plans are …

They didn’t bring a lot of these guys in to be 1 year players …

I can say I don’t get the vibes I was getting from some guys who hit the portal last year from these new guys … I was on here in November and December last year saying how pissed Morez and his camp were …

Not a word about anyone being upset this year … I mean sure they’re upset they’re hurt and want to play … That’s to the be expected … But I’ve heard no drama …
Great to hear. This type of cohesion and chemistry could make this a Final Four team, it’s important.

Bingo … He ain’t gonna be a dude in the NBA …

They wanna see how he does this year … And the numbers don’t lie, it was a rough first game … It’s going to take some time …

Jokic doesn’t run very well either … Dude is pretty good …

Lot of scouts think Mirk is very similar to Jokic … If I’m a team in the later 20s … I like the potential …
Interesting comp. Jokic, and I see Sengun noted elsewhere, have a bit more size but not too much. I am always very hesitant to comp guys to outliers, I'm old enough to remember Harold Miner being the next Jordan :)

Seriously though, if he is 80% of Jokic he would be a steal in the 20's. Just selfishly want to see him evolve here for a bit first.

Can we be surprised anymore when a top euro prospect is now commanding a huge number? It happens every season then we get upset we lose the bidding war. Underwood is gonna find his guys. I've stopped doubting that. I just now assume any name we are connected to won't even be on our radar come April.
I’ve come to this same conclusion as well! The guys we just start hearing about now, or not even know about in January, are the ones we end up landing..

Josh Dix looking rather pedestrian thus far (only 2 games so have to see)

Super glad that did not work out for us... hindsight is 20/20 etc etc
Agree. My biggest concern with how our recruiting has shifted is it seems like we are going for an Iowa on Steroids kinda vibe. Fran had some really good teams and you could book it they were good for 80 a night. Only problem was once they ran into a good team in the NCAAT they would give up 95, hence no second weekend for the Franimal.

At least so far though this group has pretty good bite defensively. We may not be elite defensively but I think we can cross that threshold of “good enough” defense + elite offense to contend for the conference title and a F4.

Totally agree on the defense. It's off-topic for this thread so I'll be brief: outside of the stretch where we tried to play JT straight up - obviously a mistake, but - they barely shot 40% (they were 6-22 from 3 also and only 4 FT attempts... some will say home-cooking but McCasland even explained that away in his post-game PC)

My thoughts on recruiting have completely changed. We lose two guys who run out of eligibility. We have commitments from 3 high school guys. That commits all 15 scholarships...for now.

The recruiting emphasis now comes to full focus....and will all be in house. How can BU keep this roster...a potential and legit national title contender, in C-U for a run at winning the big prize next season? Don't come up with no way as there will be a couple or three first round drafts picks as well as maybe more leaving for $ like Morez. We have a roster of talent that loves playing with and for each other. They have an opportunity to accomplish something that will be the highlight of their lives. None will be Michael Jordan or Lebron James. All, would seem to be role players at the NBA level. Will they opt for a two to five year stint of sitting on the bench or to come back and join a fight for legendary status while collecting in nice bonus check? What this roster looks like next year is a complete mystery, but I am pretty certain if we see all these guys return, none will ever regret it. I sure do not expect that all to happen. Brad certainly will try his best to fill all the holes and field a team he likes....but that will be another role of the dice.

Does BU have the money support to keep them together? I sure don't know. But what I do know is that his job now includes a world-wide perspective and requires the skills of a general manager as well as the excruciating weight of being a father figure and life mentor.
