Hard Pass for me was not impressed when we recruited him in hs
Especially when you factor in probably the two most likely returnees are Jake Davis and Mirk.

In my opinion they should look to surround those guys with athletes that can guard on the perimeter not look to add another guy that can't slide his feet.

The best teams that Brad has coached(21 and 24) had toughness, physicality, and athleticism. Being able to physically impose your will on opposing teams offsets Brads biggest weakness which is his in game coaching imo.

If anyone has an issue with the last part just look at Brad's results when coaching against other elite coaches like Izzo(5-9), Painter(3-7), Hurley(0-2), Oats(0-2), Scheyer(only 0-1 but embarrassingly bad), or Sampson(0-1). I don't think Barnes is really elite but Brad is 1-2 against him finally beating his this year. 0-2 against Shaka. His best look is being 2-1 against May(beat him at FAU) but we will get a much larger sample size now.

Where would you rank Jalen Cox compared to some of these guys. I know our new coach has connections with him, he played very well vs us and his numbers look outstanding. I wpuld love a little experience, shooting, and some added quickness on both ends of the court. When i saw him vs us he and the freshman Alekseyenko were the top two players.

Would be a perfect guard off the bench …

Not gonna lie, it’s very deflating seeing the insiders suggest our only returners will be Ty, Jake, and Mirk. Even in today’s new portal era, we were in a position to return everyone on this years roster minus the two seniors.

Deflating being having to completely retool again when we should’ve had a solid returning base

KInd of what i was thinking as well as having some quickness we could use on D in last secobd situations vs quicker guards. I dont want to see endings seem quite so easy for teams like we saw last year vs Tenn ans UCLA this season. Plus quicker guards have caused us a lot of problems and we could use a few on or team.

I know one said they felt T and Z could leave but i dont know if that is the concenus. My thought process is that they may have preferreed to leave if all things were equal but the seasons may not have gone as well for Tomi as he had planned. If he and Z can make a few hundred thousand dollars more by staying than leaving id think that may be very persausive. Much like the Kofi situation a few years ago. I wonder how much cash Kofi likely missed out on leaving 2 seasons sooner than he had to. If Coleman made 2 Mil i wonder what Kofi may have lost in opportunity costs. Whatever Z and T decide, i hope it works out for them as well as it can. Im pulling for them both to make the right choice and one they dont regret later. Coleman or Kofi and others may provide some quality insight.

I get it … I also get kids testing the open market and seeing what sets themselves up best financially and fit wise …

DGL prime example … He got that lead role and he’s been fantastic …

Darn near every adult on this board would do the same thing no problem. But let a 18-21 year old college kid with very special set of skills do it and suddenly it’s a problem for some.
