Tough negotiations as far as the money goes (to be expected after a Final Four run), but that's not the biggest potential deal stopper, IMO.

Who is actually doing the negotiating? Brad? Neel Ganta?

Hard to think of what else would stop deals other than money ... although I suspect one or more of T/Z/Mirk could go through the draft process.

Maybe demanding we re-up Petro or Bilic for decent $$ as part of some package deal?

My biggest concern going into the off-season is returning both Tomi and Big Z… Lot of money will be floated around to top bigs so wouldn’t be shocked if Big Z could get around 1.5-2 mil on the open market

I think it’s best for all if he comes back …

I’m not sure that there is a definitive role for him right now but he’s going to have the opportunity to earn one …

If nothing else … I think he can be the guy who we put in to stop a dude like Boyd getting 40 on us …
Any sense from conversations with staff as to progress on his shot? Is it still broken or coming along? I don’t expect he’ll ever be super reliable but if he could even just have a solid 15-footer it’d do wonders for his on-court fit.

If there’s one thing I really took away from one of my discussions with a source today … Brad wants EVERYONE that’s on the team to be here for the whole summer … Doesn’t like guys coming at all different times …

Thinks that will really give us an advantage …

That may mean looking more in the portal than overseas … But it’s got to be the right pieces …

Today’s Blackwell update … Dad wants him here … Kid wants to be here … They’re going to listen to other offers … But at the end of the day … It’s been made clear to me this is where they want to end up … Just have to make the financial piece work … As far as the $5 million rumor or whatever … Don’t put too much stock into that … I won’t discuss numbers on here but there’s 1 guy in the portal who’s asking for $5 million and it’s not Blackwell …
Does that get significantly harder to become a reality if we're paying our Euros twice as much?

That doesn't sound good - the only other aspect I can imagine it being about is if his agent is wanting guarantees on role/usage, that we'll build the offense around him, etc. Which I think we would, but Brad and Tyler have to go with what's working, so it would be tough to guarantee anything

I would also imagine other programs are in Misko's ear for Mirk to go there and they will build the whole team around him, so that could be driving some of that too - however any other good program would have the same challenges we would have in those types of guarantees and any coach that is going to guarantee his agent that is a coach I wouldn't trust

Is he wanting them to play in Europe over the summer?

It’s early in discussions …

Every agent thinks their players are worth double what they are … That’s just how it goes …

If we don’t have things ironed out in a few weeks … I’ll be a little more concerned …
I mean honestly is anyone surprised by this? Hopefully this gets us out of going euro.

Does the player not have any say in the matter? Can he say "Look (Agent X), I want to play at this school and no other." "You can make your deals, but dont let it ruin what I want".

Reality of the NIL era. This is Tomi and Z’s final college paydays and they held their own against Tarris Reed who dropped 26/9 vs. Duke’s frontline.

Dre got downhill and scored at key moments during the E8 and F4 games.

Mirk has potential to be B1G player of the year next year.

I would love to return all 4. Pay them. You have Jake. Add Blackwell. That’s a solid starting lineup with scoring options specialized for 3 levels (3pt line, mid-range, at the rim). Jake provides spacing and 3s. Tomi plays the Mara role with a serviceable 3pt shot you have to respect. Coleman starts.

Hope Z makes a year two jump and rediscovers his shot. Morillo provides gaurd depth. Add some backup pieces in the portal.

Top 10 team with a 1 seed ceiling and 3 seed floor. Worth the $10-15M budget we’ll have to spend.

Well. I feel one reason you clearly stated. Ty doesnt shoot like Ben or Jake so the floor isnt as spaced. Heck Ty doesnt shoot really at all outside a few feet. Also he isnt 6'9" or near as long. Covering true 4s was tough for Ben at his size. Ty isnt near big enough for that and Andre isnt going to sit much plus its going to be hard to play Andre and Ty together if you want shooting and spacing.
I have a feeling Andrej is gonna surprise us with his 3 point shooting next year. He knows it his key to getting in the league. I’m predicting 35%. Put that in his repertoire and he will be 1st team all big ten
