I think you could see an addition sometime during the summer.

I expect one more, but they are (as has been said) very confident in the incoming freshman. My expectation is an add sometime June or July, probably from overseas.

On Kylan-that door is not closed if something is passed soon. I would not count on anything though.
How does a mid-summer signing agree with Brad's expressed desire to be able work with the full team for a full summer?

My interpretation is all the guys he views as critical to work with all summer are already here. Deep depth pieces that will rarely see the floor once late December rolls around are a little less critical.

He plays at Warren. He’s not a Chicago kid. He’s a nice player but if Davion and Devin Cleveland didn’t transfer out of state they would be the top players.

Howard Williams and Jaylin Mitchell also left the state. He’s obviously a stud but literally all the top talent has left the state
Howard Williams would be the guy I want out of that entire group.

**call it Wagler kool aid**
Everyone here has a favorite frosh that we think/wish will step up at some point before Jan. and become a dependable B1G warrior. And there is little agreement about their strengths and weaknesses prior to then...except by the staff who sees them daily and their progression/attitude. I will wait for them to chime in or announce a boom or a statement of surprise at their talent . Meanwhile, I will offer them a deep bow of respect for securing a pretty formidable roster that we all want to see play and compete for titles. I am running out of chances to see a natty banner hung at the Assembly Hall, but I really appreciate being able to watch this group run it back.

I love our chances to be a favorite to cut the nets down next season with the team we currently "sport" and honestly think we have the players to honestly do so....with the exception of what Michigan brings back or will bring back in their front court remains to be seen...I've stated this and will stand by this. Illinois will have the best front court in the nation and Michigan if everyone there returns...Mirk, Dre, The Twin Towers I'm betting will all be better next season, and truth be told easily three of those young men COULD be drafted (you have your opinion of the three that's in my head)...(and that's not fiction, but reality)..how many teams can really say they can be sporting three potential NBA'ers on their roster, of whom all will have their second season of playing together.
I do think we could use a little more depth of course, injuries are "unseen", sometimes personal matters, real life etc...Vaaks, Coleman, Morillo (think point forward) are trusted in this staff, and think they will flourish with their given abilities and the talent already around them...not to mention what Brown-can do for you or Mr. Wisconsin Basketball...Right now let's embrace and enjoy and grateful what us Illinois Men's basketball team DOES have...this will be a fun , entertaining team and HUNGRY!

I just don’t buy the waiting until the summer thing. I will die on the hill screaming they need another guard. Badly.

Bring an experienced guy to solidify that spot. We are trying to win a national championship. In my opinion, you need experienced guards to do that.

Look, there is ZERO doubt that @LvilleILL1 and many, many others know more about this team and its players than I do. Ethan Brown may be all that and a bag of chips, but I personally would prefer to not be in a position where we are depending on him. We are 1 freak injury in the backcourt from possibly being in that spot. I don’t like that.

Get a guy with some experience in here to bolster things. Keaton Wagler was 1 of 1. That likely will never happen again.

For a team with serious title aspirations, I want to count on as few freshmen as possible. No problem with Coleman and Morillo playing a lot. After that I want as many veterans as possible.

JMHO.

I'm trying to not to put too much pressure on the kid, but Brown has the potential to shock a lot of people in here next year. All I will say for now.
Hope you're right. Illinois isnt alone in this as even Duke has highly anticipated guys flame out, but until they get here and prove it you will never actually know who's really good enough and who's not. Some guys just dont transition well for a variety of reasons. Lee was supposed to be ready for solid time but couldn't even get into a game where we only has 1 guard playing. You just never know.

This isnt the year to guess we have enough talent. If we have 15 spots fill them all up with the best talent you can buy whether you think you need them or not. NIL basketball is year to year. Get them now and worry about next year next year. Duke doesn't say no to the 7th burger boy if they already have 6. They grab the 6th and look for a 7th. I dont care prime michael Jordan is on our team. You have an extra spot grab kobe. This is the year to go for it.

We can recalibrate next year after we win the natty and everyone bolts for the nba.

Was Bilic really that bad that he couldn’t service a 5-10 minute backup 4 man role?

Yes I know it was a favor to Misko in the first place

We'll book it in now but realize it once the season starts.

Only guys who are capable of playing a minute of hotly contested big ten basketball: Vaaks, Coleman, Stojakovic, Mirkovic, Tomi, Z, Jake, and Morillo.

An injury somewhere which we always have, or someone may not pan out as good as we originally thought....and we'd be in trouble.

Guard depth is zero.

It felt like we had an opportunity to build a true championship contender. There's just no room for error with the way the roster's constructed.
And you know this how?
