People misread stats. Petro averaged 5.9 minutes per game for 19 games for a total of 110 minutes. Over the 37 games the team played that's an average of 2.97 minutes.

Jakstys averaged 5.3 minutes for only 5 games for a total of 48 minutes.

To get a true number one would need to take the total minutes played in 37 games including overtime and do a % of minutes played of available minutes.
You mean like what Torvik shows?

akin to War & Peace, I'd go with he's got it going on:
Great looking prospect. Beautiful looking shot. Nice looking passes in that highlight real. One concern: on every one of the drives in that highlight he is heavily favoring his right handed dribble drive and the right handed finish. At the next level, teams will have scouted this, and will undoubtedly be overplaying that side. He's going to need to prove that he can finish and drive strong to the left, which probably means he's going to have to work some more on his left handed dribble drive and finish.

My Doc had to increase my meds in order for me to sift thru the lunacy of late
Ok, so I'm not crazy in saying this place has gotten significantly crazier this off-season?

Every offseason is crazy, but this one has seemed like the majority has forgot about the Groce/Weber dark years and thinks guys will come for the privilege to sit on our bench.

His upper body and explosiveness has to(and will) take him to the next level. He'll be able to play of the perimeter offensively. He can do that tomorrow. Finishing at the rim and using a bigger body to stay in front of opposing guards will be the initial hurdle. Hopefully, he'll be there over there summer?

With that shooting stroke and scorers mentality, he can and probably will be special.

I mean, MLT was borderline basketball rage over the "who is Illinois' PG???" on the podcast. :ROFLMAO:

Everyone who has commented on "OMG THERE'S NO PG!!!" needs to watch that entire interview.

More MLT please.
from my understanding, Illinois is still in behind the half court line and there is no plan to get across half court.

I've been away for a while. Are we still arguing about the 4th guy off the bench, when Brad only uses an 8 man rotation?

I was as hopeful as anyone that Brown could fill in minutes competently without having seen him play.

However after watching a video, I do not see the skill level or the physical ability to do that. He needs a year of hard work on his skills and with Fletch or I see B1G athletic guards stealing his lunch. But I know that is only MHO, and hope does spring eternal. We will see. I sure am hoping he can learn, adjust, and quickly gain confidence, not to mention strength, before the season starts.

But the good that I see from him is that he is a team player who has pretty solid court awareness...and wants to win.
Thought the same. Hopefully everyone stays relatively healthy and we don't need just spot minutes from him.

The 04-05 team didn’t have much depth. Only Rich and Jack…that worked out pretty well.

We already have more depth this upcoming season.
Yeah, all five starters played a lot - they were all in fantastic shape and were healthy all season. Rich and Jack were the main reverses in a 7-man rotation. Chainsaw and Carter also got minutes.

FWIW most coaches prefer a tight rotation if stamina, health, and fouls permit. But those three things are far from a given.

5.3 minutes per game times 5 games= 48 minutes?
First I learn that drug prices are down 600%, then I learn that 100% of $100 per barrel is more than 80% of $150 per barrel, now this.
This new math hurts my brain.
9 games. I was looking right at it, don't know why I put a 5 in there.

At this point we keep thinking the next milestone will cure it, but it just makes it worse. Success exacerbates the condition. Disappointment drives us into a tailspin. Just nothing happening has us pulling our hair out. Is it possible we're all just a group of psych patients yelling at each other and sharing a joint psychosis that we're on a sports message board?
