@LvilleILL1 any update as to where Ty could land?

Forgive me if it’s already been asked or discussed, but is there interest on both parties for him to come back? Do we have a roster spot from him if he were to come back? I love the guy and his leadership/hustle.

Also, a guy at work went to school with him so despite being an MSU fan, he’s grown a soft spot for Illinois because of Ty. I’d also really like to not lose him to MSU if possible…

When he committed my response was "I like guys who make 3s and try to put you in the rim."

He can shoot and is athletic. Strength/size is easy to add with a guy like Fletch.

I love the addition. If we can get him to play defense at a reasonable level, his style of play is just about a perfect fit at PG.

Every player we are going to put on the floor next season can really shoot. I expect Andrej’s percentage to increase as well. That really spreads the floor and puts defenses in a serious bind.

High quality shooters are pretty damn important in basketball, and we have a bunch of them.

Shooting, passing, ballhandling are all there. Getting him to play reasonably good D is the only question.

Same. His shot quality is going to be night and day from what happened at Providence.

In its simplest terms, we have a bunch of good players you have to guard so Stefan will have more space to work with, his passing ability will lead to more baskets because of the good players he’s playing with, and he will get better looks because the rest of his team doesn’t suck.

Staff’s “ideal guard” template is very clearly: size, shooting, lead guard skills. If you have all three, chances are you’ll be a stud.
