I doubt Brad goes into the season with 2 open. He typically likes to keep one... I'm betting they are waiting for the freshmen to get on campus to ensure they all enroll. There are still a lot of good players in the portal... Ty is ranked the 47th best guy available, if that is any indication of the caliber of guys out there.

The bidding is probably stupid right now, as other teams scramble to put together a decent roster. You know UK still has crazy money to spend... Once the market cools, and seats fill up, guys will be more willing to listen to teams with only bench roles available.

When did we ever have 'several' walkons?

Roster count by season:

25-26: 14
24-25: 14
23-24: 15
22-23: 14
21-22: 15
20-21: 14

Having 12 + 2/3 walk-ons is the norm.

Well, consider at the moment that we don’t have any “walk on” level players on the roster yet… unless you consider Fagbemi to be of that caliber. While scholarships are now available to a roster of 15 max players, that doesn’t mean the staff couldn’t add a walk on type from the current student body as is routinely done. That would bring the roster up to 14 and Brad generally likes to leave one spot open for mid season additions.

Some of these other team’s reloads are really scaring me. Gonna be a tough year. Young guys will have to be ready to step up. I’m really high on Vaaks and I hope I’m right

I’m sure I’m missing something here but this reads like you answered your question.

Can’t wait for the summer session media availability where a rising senior calls him "cold" and predicts he will be a highly impactful player 🙂

"Reloads" versus "Already Loaded". We are the latter. Could you imagine what the cost of guys like Mirk, Drej, Tomi, etc would have been on the open market? That's how every program has to look at each year. Every team is starting over.

We brought all of eligible, non lottery picks guys back from a Final Four team. Other teams lost 3/4 of a roster and have to figure it out(Michigan).
