Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread

The beauty with Coleman is we won’t ask/don’t need him to do too much. Spot up shoot, secondary playmake, stick is nose in on rebounds. He should excel in that role.

If he’s Keaton 2.0, fantastic. But we don’t need that to be really stinking good.

Coleman is an all around player. Will get open shots in the Illini offense, seems automatic. Need to lock down our defense at the guard spot.

Heard Illinois will get a little more serious about some Euro targets this month.
It kinda depends on who is available/offered to them. More of a development piece or already established younger player.
We just need a 9th man whose good enough to get into games, compete, play hard, etc. Probably average 2 or 3 points per game for the season, but provide valuable depth.

As it stands, it's unrealistic to think we have that guy.

A Few too many turnovers for my liking and he did lead his team with a -8 in the plus minus but the shot does play. I would be careful comparing him to Keaton, Keaton had 4 turnovers twice all year.
+/- is a bit deceptive in games like that. And while I agree we're going to need him to take care of the ball, I don't think he's been particularly turnover prone in the past so I'm not sure that's a reason to worry. His game is pretty much seems the finished article in most aspects. My one tiny concern is that in all of the highlights I've seen of him, and there have been many, I've never seen him finish with his left hand. Does that mean he needs to work on his left hand? I'm not sure. But that's nit picking at this point. This kid has the talent to be an absolute superstar, and I'm excited to see him play for us.

We'rre gonna love Coleman and Vaaks. Both have great length and are dangerous shooters from deep. That should really stretch any defense.
4/5 of our projected starters are very good outside shooters (for their position). Andrej should have a lot of space to drive to the bucket.
