It is truly a gift how easily this forum can wander off course at a moment’s notice. I didn’t even have to use the cc words.

The cattle population in Florida is around 50% more than Illinois...(1.58 million to 1.02). They can't grow anything but grass there other than orange trees and strawberries so there is a ton of grazing land.
Can no longer grow orange trees either. Orange groves could possibly be 100% gone in just a few more years.

I know this is a basketball forum, but does that mean they'll be changing the name of the Citrus Bowl to the Cattle Bowl. I think Cheez-It goes better with Cattle than Citrus.

Factoid...The state of Florida (where I live) is the second largest beef producing state, after Texas and ships way more beef than it does oranges. They even have a cattle drive in this state!

Beef bowl, here we come!!

Can the cow play the 4, or is it just here to help boost our cottage cheese production?

Isn't this the type of thing that used to lead to getting a team mascot? Not particularly scary, but there aren't many things more "Illinois" than cows...

Wrong board... Interior DL!

Scoregasm beat me to it.

Way better run-jump athletic, likely better defender, 2-3 inchees shorter.

Highly unlikely he has the court vision/feel for the game that Keaton had. Very few players, Illini or otherwise, have that level of "basketball IQ."

Not sure if it's "feel" or "IQ" or what, but I think I was most impressed by Keaton's demeanor and consistency. Never forced anything, even in close games, in games where he wasn't shooting the best, no matter if he was guarded tightly or loosely. He just played his game. That maturity is amazing even in seniors or pros, let alone in a freshman who nobody (not even HE) expected would have that role and spotlight. How do you stay that cool under that pressure? Or, how do you not feel that pressure? Amazing.

EDIT: Combo said this already, in fewer words.

You'll find FL cattle in a large stretch down the center of the state. My wife and I lived 3 yrs. in Naples. The coasts, of course, are extremely populous; you won't find any grazing there. FL is the flattest state there is. We didn't like the culture there, or the dilemma--unspeakable wealth sits next to unspeakable poverty. We didn't like the hurricanes either.

My Dad who is a Professor Emeritus at U of I was in charge of the Dairy Barn at LSU as a grad student when one day he was called about a bull loose on the LSU campus. He had never had lassoed a bull but he grabbed a rope, lassoed the bull and tied it to a fire hydrant. He was late for class. Years later i visited my Brother down there and the Baton Rouge Zoo had a rino get loose. Didnt end so well for the rino. It was a funny story about the cow and made me think of my late father telling that story lassoing a bull as a reason he was late for class and telling his professor why.
