I'm not sure about fascination. I see it as rabid optimism. It's also seen in greatly overrating our talent, especially freshmen.Yup. Every year. And every fan base does it. I don’t get the fascination.
I am a bit confused with Kholer getting eligibility - he signed an exhibit 10 with Utah.
Honestly, who’s been greatly overrated this offseason?I'm not sure about fascination. I see it as rabid optimism. It's also seen in greatly overrating our talent, especially freshmen.
Hope springs eternal.
Guys -- there's been WAY, WAY more posts expressing concern about our depth rather than optimism.I'm not sure about fascination. I see it as rabid optimism. It's also seen in greatly overrating our talent, especially freshmen.

Seems like just about every eligibility case is winnable at this point.he was HS class of 2022 so would meet criteria if he had not already signed his NBA contract. that being said, it seems it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility that he could argue he didn’t have the NCAA option available to him at the time he signed the contract..
Yeah, this year actually reality finally is as good as expectations. Most years that isn't the case.Honestly, who’s been greatly overrated this offseason?
— We’re a projected top 5 team by every metric.
— Mirk is a projected 1st Team All American by Vegas. He’s 4th in player of the year odds.
— Vaaks, Andrej, and Tomi are projected top 100 players in college basketball.
— The only freshman in the projected starting lineup is a consensus 5 star, top 15 recruit who was possibly the best player on Team USA this summer and all we need is from him is to be our 5th(?) best player.
— So if by “overrating our freshman”, you mean, we hope one of our freshman can come off the bench as our *9th* man and provide 5-10 minutes and 1-2 points each game, then yes, we’re overrating our freshman.
Half the time, I see more belief in this team by national media than I do on this board.
The lack of title syndrome leads to massive pessimism. This won’t change until we cut the final nets down in early April some fortunate year (if ever).Honestly, who’s been greatly overrated this offseason?

This is just no way to run a railroad man. This doesn’t seem like it’s over yet…
Yes.For the sake of argument we do have an open roster spot correct?
Yeah, this year actually reality finally is as good as expectations. Most years that isn't the case.
We were talking about player evaluations. It’s funny how different everyone’s memories are of things like this, I suppose.
Last year we moped over Morez transferring, losing out on Dix/Conwell/Cluade/Jackson/etcetera.
Season before we were doomed all summer after losing out on Storr and the assistant coaching change that led to 5 players (who everyone loved) transferring out.
Then the year before that was the RayJ Dennis summer which needs no further commentary.
Those 3 seasons all ended in tournament appearances, with an Elite 8 and a Final 4.
As far as reality being in line with expectations, I think someone had a graphic that we’ve been finishing above our preseason ranking pretty regularly.
We were talking about player evaluations.
Right, me too. I listed a bunch of players that the board evaluated during the past 3 offseasons.
Seems like we might not be very good at it.![]()

Don't think we were heavily involved with any of the final 3. It was Dix / Sarr / Sellers who we missed on, but then proceeded to land Petro / Mirk / Stoj.Last year we moped over Morez transferring, losing out on Dix/Conwell/Cluade/Jackson/etcetera.
That was Storr / Egor Demin / even David Jones.Season before we were doomed all summer after losing out on Storr and the assistant coaching change that led to 5 players (who everyone loved) transferring out.
To expand on that question:Yes.

If we do add, I think it'd be more of a depth add than a "significant add." (#8thMan or #9thMan)To expand on that question:
1)Do we have money for a significant add?
2)If so, who on the current roster would get screwed out of minutes?
This is just no way to run a railroad man.
"Third World" is the adjective that springs to mind.
