Archie has a $10.4M buyout this year that drops to $3.5M next year. He will get one more, which means Beilein gets a year older before this job may open up. On the other hand, Lil' Archie is 0-7 vs. Purdue, and they hate that in Bloomington. In fact, my Purdue friends point out that its been 1843 days since IU beat Purdue (Crean lost his last 2, so its 9 in a row).
Hoosiers having a long losing streak against the Boilers really warms the heart. ♨️

It would be interesting to know, over the last twenty years, what % of National Champs also won their conference tournaments that year...
Ask and you shall receive

The quick answer is it used to be more correlated- lately not so much, but a little under 50% over 25 years

I am excited about the prospect of the Illini winning the BTT. The problem is that the officials may make that decision. College officiating across the board is a joke with no visible consequences for the poor officials. The Illini may even benefit from this, who knows, but it makes watching college basketball almost impossible for me.

How funny is it they made Robbie Hummel's last name the promo code for "take care of your balls?" I wonder how many times he had to read through that before he could do it without crackin' up. I have to give him credit though, he's doing a pretty good job with this podcast.
Actually he is probably my favorite announcer at this point.

I watch that video so many times, but I don't know why watching it tonight really hit me. The sound of the fans was insane!

Or, maybe it was just the sound of a crowd.

The sound of a crowd...

I miss it...
Yeah, I go and watch it when I need a boost.

Olympic Swimming 2008 relay (I don't even like swimming that much, but it was awesome)

Thanks for sharing that. I will be honest - love Ayo - great ambassador. It was great how complimentary Hummel and Goodman are. Man, if only we would have taken Hummel as if memory serves correct, he wanted to come here along with Moore. However, Hummel seems class personafied.
Yep. A huge miss on our part. One of Weber's many recruiting mistakes. Robbie proceeded to shred us annually on the court.

Another thanks for sharing. I did not know about their podcasts. Two takeaways :
1. Hummel is really good analyst. It would not surprise me if he gets a good, large network gig. He knows the game. He is the antidote to a Walton.
2. Ayo is a great player, a great ambassador, and a great young man. If I am an NBA executive, this video would get my attention. I bet he watches more tape than a lot of coaches.

Yes the exchange about watching tape was super. You could tell how impressed they were with Ayo’s preparation and attention to detail. They seemed caught off guard by it, honestly.

I also loved the comments about my man Curbelo, how Ayo has mentored him and what Ayo sees in Belo as a future star.

Ayo will make a great coach after his NBA career is finished, many years from now.
