Nothing I’ve seen over the past two decades plus watching Illini football suggests to me that there is anything other than a 100% chance that we don’t win this game.

Sadly I agree with this assessment.
I get that consistency comes with being a good team but it's be nice if they could play one complete game this season. Maybe this will be that one
So, Illinois will be battling for a bowl against a team that is, against all odds, exceeding all expectations. We’ll likely have the least amount of fans all year due to Thanksgiving weekend, and here’s the way-to-early forecast:

The fans that overreact to every negative thing forget: We're returning most of our defense. Yes, we're losing Newton and maybe Randolph but guys like Bryant and Odeluga have been emerging on the line. We're bringing back most of our offense as well. The staff does need to figure some things out, but we have a favorable schedule next year and should still be competitive. Sucks we probably won't get a chance to play for the Big Ten title but we still have a more competitive program than we had under previous regimes.

Hmmm… interesting. So that shocks me. I don’t hate it, it’s just shocking. He didn’t “lose” his opportunity today, I just figured we’d go back to “the sorrybook ended” idea.

Northwestern is 6-5
Paddock played well against a good Iowa defense. I am not sure what his completion percentage would have been if you take away drops on good throws. It could be his last college game. Paddock understands how to get the ball out quickly and make good reads
I think Luke is a good qb but he is still adjusting to the speed of college. I don’t think Luke is going anywhere because if he transfers he has to sit a year

I don't care how we look. I don't care what the score is. It can be the ugliest game in college football history. I don't care. Just get a friggin' win and get to 6-6 so we can make a bowl. I need this. We need this. The program desperately needs this.
Have to remember, even though he’s “cleared” to practice and play, Altmeyer may still be dealing with affects from the concussion. Better safe than sorry.

We better have a great loud crowd next week. I am driving down from the north Chicago suburbs. Every able bodied Illini football fan better be in that damn stadium next week.
Tough year but we can still make a bowl game. Just win next weekend and make a bowl game and build on it.
unless we manage to pick up a great QB from the portal (seems unlikely) LA will start next year, so why would he pass that up to sit out a year somewhere else and maybe not start there after a year of not playing?
