Just gonna throw it out there.

I genuinely think if we shifted to this OL combination we might see some more success.

LT - JC Davis
LG - Josh Gesky
C - Josh Kruetz
RG - Melvin Priestly
RT - Dez Schuster

Allows Kruetz to stay in position to have continuity with Luke, but strengthens his help by adding Melvin where he’ll likely play in the NFL and gets what sounds like our best 5 on the line.
I hope Bret does this as Schuster would be an upgrade at tackle and Priestly would fit better at guard.

ILL..... so what we are out matched, out manned, and outgunned......I like our chances
I watched MSU and Purdue game. Offense is impressive yet they weren't able to destroy these seemingly mediocre B1G teams. Offensive line play will win or lose this game. Defense should be able to keep USC in the low 30s if we can keep time of possession equal or close to it.

Big, big game for the guys.

Let's come out with energy and discipline. Fix a few issues on the lines, play solid defense in the secondary, and get some quick throws on offense. We can win this one, just get some strong series to start the game, get the confidence back, and close it out.

No changes to the starting 5, per Bret.

I'm likely in the minority here but I like this idea for a couple reasons:

(1) I still have the shakes for all of the offensive line shuffling in 2023
(2) Bret has been clear about simplifying things on offense going forward. I'd rather keep the starting five intact and change the bigger strategy picture (for now).

Yeah, that tracks. If it flops, this weekend, though, I’d hope we make changes for Purdue. If you drop that one, it doesn’t look like a good chance of a win until after your Washington game.

I echo back to what I wrote the other day. The offensive line is the same one that won the South Carolina game. They need to play lower. To straight up last game. We have everyone back but X. Jakeem is back. I think we win but not easy. Low thirties. Should be a good one.

J Leman reviewed some video of the OLine and pointed out how they didn't get anywhere near low enough, and that was compounded by IU being shorter.

Only thing is, how does the OL coach not see that in the first series and fix it??

Wonder if that’s the “allowed that to happen” comment from coach miller.

I mean, I’d be really f-ing happy if the fix was just “hey, you had a lazy summer/fall, then followed it up with 3 easyish games in Western, Duke and WMU so you’ve gotten away with half-!!! effort but it can’t fly anymore.”

If that’s seriously the fix for the OL though I’d be shocked. Happily shocked, but shocked. And mad that coaching didn’t fix it through 4 games.
