Worst game of Coach B era. Completely outclassed in every aspect of the game. What made it worse is that the team completely gave up.

It is possible that IU was well underrated going into season and Illini way overrated, but efforts like this simply cannot happen.

Illini need to completely drop from rankings. This is not close to a top 25 product. We can complain about injuries, but that is not why the Illini lost by 53 points! They looked like an FCS school tonight.

I tend to be optimistic, but tonight is a clear wakeup call. There were warning signs going into game, and they showed to be a major negative against a good team.

Quite amazing what 3 hours can do. We still need to show up at Memoral Stadium, but expectations need to be revised down a lot. 4-4 looks like a real likelihood at this point going into November unless something changes. Even Purdue becomes more of a coin flip.

It sucks we lost bit we can't let this snowball.

I more concerned about what's ahead of us instead of behind us and how the team will overcome a decimated secondary, Mike's Scott being out to start next week and our issues at the line of scrimmage. I.mean these are the same guys that played last year and it was never this bad. The secondary has me very worried if they don't jeal fast Henry and Brett gotta adjust.

I know we had key people hurt, but nine touchdowns to one? 63 points on defense can't all be due to injuries. And Altmeyer gave up, reportedly, $1,000,000 for this? I admire his loyalty but I question his judgment. Where did last year's team go. I know we lost scorers, but please.

We either come out and hit USC in the mouth until they ring the bell or we're the ones who keep getting popped in the mouth for the rest of the season on our way to a 5-7 finish.

Our program history tells us the latter is likely to happen. I really want to believe things will be different with Bielema but I just can't shake the feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop.
This is the essence of being an Illini fan. Bad losses set us back years. Meanwhile, your Wisconsins of the world will hit rock bottom with like 8 wins over two seasons and then just bounce back next year like nothing happened.

Game points:

(1) that was the first Bielema game that reminded me of the Lovie and Beckman era. Just absolutely no answer for anything the other team was doing. Outworked, out coached, just destroyed.

There are no answers when the opponent dominates both lines and has a better QB and better skill guys. There’s nothing to scheme. Blitz and you give up easy catches with a depleted secondary. Play soft and they’ll grind up yards in the run game.

This was a top 8 team taking a top 30 team to the woodshed

Our biggest problem is the offensive line, cause you can’t have an effective passing game without pass protection and a complementary ground game…which is not possible if you can’t win the line of scrimmage.

The one thing this game proved to me is that Xavier Scott is a bona fide first round draft choice and NFL teams better pay attention. He’s an outstanding player, the best player that we have and it was proven tonight.

The momentum of the game really changed when we called time out after Indiana planned to punt on a 4th and one. That gave them an opportunity to rethink their strategy and a couple plays later, the Hoosiers scored again. I immediately knew that was a mistake. How could we make the same mistake one of our opponents made last year to gift us a game. Then when Scott was ejected, the momentum was just too much to overcome.

On the blocked punt, wasn't that the second key block in two weeks that Arkin missed?

This was absolutely embarrassing. Not confident at all about next week. I beg the coaching staff to get this figured out.
