No, this game doesn't deserve the burning dog. We played hard, which I did not expect. We are still an untalented team, which I did expect.
Love the fight, solidified my view that we just don't have the horses to run in the B1G.

Frazier has serious heart.
Overall, this may have been the best executed game of the year. Hustle for the entire game, sets ran, fought against being short handed, having fouls called, sick players, and in general being out talented.
Can't fault the guys tonight, they fought. Overall, I feel better with this loss than many of the previous ones.

We may not win another one this year but as long as we compete like we did tonight I can handle that. No more PSU efforts the rest of the way

I know we have a lot of deficiencies...that's not been noticed before, right? But, you gotta love Trent. He is the unquestioned leader now, and I think he will be great...as both a player and leader...for the next few seasons.

Liked the pace they played with. Really nice effort. Make your free throws and stop losing the ball when your going up for a layup or dunk and the outcome could have been different.
Agree with above comments. We got beat because we do not have adequate BIG level talent. When we get into foul trouble we just don’t have the players to compete. The positive is that they continued to fight until the end. To me that is important because that means a culture is being set. I have seen signs of it through many games this year. There has been 3 games though that I left game worrying about direction we are going. If we don’t recruit some quality depth in frontcourt, we will be a 15 win team for some time.

This is what drove me nuts more than anything!
We lack team athleticism and consistent outside shooters but the thing that kills me is the number of mistakes we make. Ill advised passes, needless fouls, going up soft. . . If we eliminate half of those gaffes we are right in the middle of the BIG. Even with our flawed roster. Our record sucks but I still believe we are will see a quantum leap forward next year.

This season sucks. 
Matic actually showed some effort offensively tonight. Maybe with a year he will play loose and realize he can hang in the B1G, right now he looks like many other freshman players.
Alstork, if it weren't for defense, well...
Nichols, has strung some good games together, still don't think he is a B1G athletic type, but man do we need him as the third option.
Jordan, early hustle, not much else. If he is here, he will HAVE to be Alstork next year on the defensive end, and I actually think he would relish that role.
Frazier, even sick 12-5 and only 1 turnover...man 3 more years of this kid will be fun.
Black, Talk about an increase in talent/productivity...he is a "beast" now!
Smith, Better live in a gym this off season, and build some confidence up. Doesn't bring much to the table right now.
Lucas, played hard, made some baskets, looked a little salty though at game's end when he came back out.
Ebo, freshman fouls, but he will be a very very good player for us. Could see him leading B1G in blocks by junior year possibly. Great rebounding instinct also.

Haven’t we had the darkness long enough?
Finke helps this offense run much smoother, but defensively we are much better with Ebo. Unfortunately, he can't stay on the court right now.
I'm excited to see Ebo grow. He's so fast for his size, it's exactly what we need to cover up the back cuts and corner 3's in our zone. Plus, he's quick enough to hedge hard and get back to his man just like Nnanna could do. His hands are much better than Nnanna's, but he still has the same awkwardness around the rim. Looking forward to seeing that improve.

He HAS to play this way, because talent doesn't let us get our offensive numbers by itself.
Also with more talent on the way, WE HOPE, then this defense becomes more legit, because the overplay and backcuts will not be as severe. Even if it happens athletes will adjust if talented enough. The current team is not.
